Thanks.

Id run a 20 pinion. if its too hot ( which its bound to be, I don't think ive even had a cool motor after a 4whl run) drop a tooth and keep going until its at a nice temp.

With a 10x1 D6 (timing close to 20 degrees, Putnam X brushes and purple springs) run a 92 spur with an 17/18 pinion. I would do the 18 tooth pinion.

Nope, they are different. The XXXS uses the spur gear and the drive pulley molded together (unless you get aftermarket gear adapters) and the XXX4 uses a spur gear with a slipperhub and drive pulley attaching to it. If it is a 64 pitch it would be a 128 tooth or if it is a 48 pitch it would be a 92 tooth spur.

As far as a heatsink goes, it isn't really necessary because of the lack of air flow. I think you could use the MF heatsink though if you wanted to use one. It covers up a small portion of the motor and you could probably clear the body.
