Most of the HPI Team Drivers including Hara and Moore have been using the thiner 2.0mm chassis from HPI on asphalt this season.....
When I tried this chassis I found the car to have more traction all around and my laptimes where more consistent!!
I recomend this for Asphalt w/Rubber tires!!
For Foams on carpet the 3.0mm chassis will be better I guess....

i wont have any time to go car testing on weekdays, only on selected weekends whereby my visa gets approved!!
i havent test with a front diff yet, but will on my next visit there. turn in to corners will not be as fast as a 1 way, but probably more stable. i think a front diff better suits the current track design, as there's quite a number of hairpin turns....

In Europe we dont use foams at all....!
I have seen someone testing it both on carpet and asphalt. Works really good on carpet, but on asphalt they where slower and had major runtime problems!!
So for asphalt racing, stick with rubber!

At my club its probably around 60:30 foam:rubber, depending on the day.
But foams have so much maintenance, truing and chunking and changing gearing to account for wear, rubber seems so much easier. Not to mention the foam dust all over the car!
I might try a season on rubber to see how it goes...

tunerjetta hpw are you placing the pinion with the set screw close to the motor if so just flip it the motor shaft should be long enough it is on my monter stock with rr purple pinion and it lines up perfect no shimming.

Judging by how much of a "failure" the Pro 3 was said to be, and it still lasting for 3 years, I can't see the Pro 4 being replaced in the near future, of course, HPI will be looking at making improvements and possibly testing prototypes, but I think it'll be a while before we get a Pro 5 judging by the Pro 4's performance at the moment.

yeah I got some binding on my steering knuckles when I built my pro4 too. If you search carefully no this threat , you will notice serval other people have the same problem too.
I guess this is sort of "normal" for the pro 4 owner.
however, I just use sand paper to make my steering knucles a little bit smaller so that it won't have any binding.
