Hey guys,

im thinking of upgrading my MSX to an MRE, although is the MRE that much faster than the MSX?

Hi,

the "old" msx steering seems to be better at bigger asphalt tracks. MR used it in france as he got 3rd on the euros. The new steering is variable very great. Putting spacers between ball heads and steering bridge will make the car not so aggressive. Often I use 0 till 1.5mm because I like much steering.

The biggest difference in my opinion is the chassi plate. The car feels more locked in with mre or msxx chassi plate. The old steering seems to be prefered on carpet and high traction asphalt both for steering geometry and topdeck flex. Dont know how much of this would be noticed in stock though.

I wonder if anyone can tell me the the difference between the H0 and the standard 0 rear Blocks

H0 gives a lower roll centre as the distance between the wheel axwle and the hinge pin is 0.5mm less. This makes it the same as the HPI/HB rear hubs.

The Al center pulleies on my 415MSX is starting to wear out. Instead of replacing them I heard that the pulley off the TA05 would fit (and removing the one-way in the center). If so, what are the parts #s I need to fit them into my 415msx? Thx

See the post above yours as Tryhard lists all the parts on his website. Alternativly TIR makea centre unit for using the TA05 parts.

BTW... best bet would be to go for the MRE style centre pulley, simply as it's a one piece unit, and is lighter.
You'll need.....
TAM3454395 which is the centre mount
TAM51213 which are the 16t pulleys
TAM50589 5mm E-Ring to secure the pulleys

And thats it!

P.S You can use TAM53989 for 18t pulleys if required, see here... http://www.thard.co.uk/tips/18tpulleys.html

Well, should have posted this the other week, but hey....

Recently had the first round of carpet wars over here in the UK. Big indoor carpet track (www.carpetwars.com).

dropped back down to stock again this year, mainly as situations dictate it, and no point me running Mod, as much as I want too....

Still the decision seems to have paid off, running a setup very similar to the one I used last year (http://www.thard.co.uk/setups/CarpetWars07Rd6.jpg), but with a few changes.
1) 50wt F and 40wt R oil in the shocks + rear shocks in hole 4 on the tower
2) A/E rear blocks
3) 3.5mm under the rear outer camber link
4) Middle brace removed, and no motor mount screw (reminds me... need to write that up for the website!)

End result, q'd 7th O/a, and ended up 5th in the A final... best result at a carpet wars meeting. Just need to find some more speed (motor and batteries can be pushed harder I think)... but the chassis is spot on. Maybe some minor tweaking on shock oils (really want to try 45wt in the front, but can't find anyone who stock AE oil), but thats about it.
