I'm going to be purchasing a Orion Vortex 6.5T brushless motor from towerhobbies today or tomorrow with a $20 coupon code and saw what looked like the same motor for $5 less labeled as a Peak Vantage. What's the difference? Does Orion have a better warrenty should something happen to it? Or am I better off saving $5? And, a 6.5T motor should be a pretty good match for a RS4 MT, right? I'm going to be running this with a MM ESC which I heard is compatible. As long as I get around 35mph on grass with at least a 20min runtime I'll be happy. What is the kv rating of the 6.5T motor?

Thanks you very much for your reply. So by spending the extra $5 would I get better construction or materials? Or possible a better rated bearing? Or a batter warrenty? I'm willing to pay that bit for quality, but it they're exactly the same with a different sticker...

Mmm, sound like a cool running motor! What is the kv of the 6.5? I know with the Mamba Max motor, which ran hotter, you would need to put in a lower kv motor in to get acceptable temps in a truck such as a Rustler or Stampede (I might try this motor in my Rustler too). But it sounds as if as long as you gear it accordingly, the Orion motors should have no problem running anything 1/10, no matter the kv? And about how long should my packs last with the 6.5? I have GP3300's and IB3800's. I have about 6 packs total so I'd rather a fast setup than more runtime.

you run time is depending on how you drive. on a small track I'm getting about 12-15 min. They don't rate their motors in Kv's. the lover the Kv the more turns. The 7700 is about a 7 turn whitch is about a 3.5. The 7700 is really for onroad cars, and so are 7t. off road 2wd trucks are usually 10-12 turn motors. I would put a 6.5 in a truck.
