A few people at WLRC use the Demon battery packs, i use Core.
The Demon packs seem OK but it's a bit early on to tell how good all these Lipo packs are compared to eachother.

I looked at that charger as well, ended up getting a 'Century UK' one in the end.

We have to add lead as well to make sure all the cars weigh the same in Pro Stock.

For those of you who have been running the spool along with the updated universals for a while, how are they holding up?

This will my first weekend on mine, and I just want to know how brave I can be going into the corners! I'm only running 17.5 BL, so the car wont be going too fast anyway.

You'll be just fine. I just put a new set of silver CVD's in my car for the first time since they came out. And mainly 4.5 and 3.5 mod.

Most packs' capacities are given in milliamp hours (mAh). You must convert this amp hour (ah) by dividing by 1,000 and then multiplying by the discharge C rating (if its 15C multiply it by 1.5 if its 20C then x 2 and so on)to get the battery discharge rate. For example, a 20C 4900mAh Li-poly can discharge at 9.8Ah, or 98amps. If its 25C the discharge rate is 12.25Ah or 122.5amps. More Amps = more consistent run and overall power. Pls. do check on Mr. Shawn Palmer he will give you a more detailed explanation.

Just dont forget everything goes down to quality of the packs and not just by numbers written on the labels. Ive seen Core lipos perform toe to toe w/other lipos and I'm impress.

Does anyone have a picture of a Core 5000 pack mounted in their car? I'm just wondering how it fits, where you're putting weight, ect.

on page 831i posted pictures of a weight system being made by one of the guys at SIR. before that I used to just run 10 blocks of weight down the inside outside of the battery. SIR has some "thin" ones that give you a little more clearance on the belt and pinion gear.

post on the SIR site when you will be down next and i will bring the tray down
