Hey Jilles

Well done on your win at the Snowbirds , hope yo carry it on at the TITC

I am thinking of ditching the T3 and coming back to Tamiya , how is the TRF417 compaired to the TRF416 ?? has it got more steering ?? or more stable ??

I found my TRF416we a little difficult to get a nice set up into it , where as my T3 is normally ok on most tracks , i normally make very little changes between indoor and outdoor where as the TRF needed lost of changes

Thanks for your time and hope to catch up soon

Does anyone have an idea to get a car working better on and over curps?!
In general you should stay away from curps,i know, but would be nice if you come to close!

Thanks, Tyrus1

Jilles posted a Pic of some Orion Chargers on the Snowbirds. It's a lot smaller then the Much More Products he used to use.

Mooi gedaan Jilles, het waren mooie races om te zien!

- Hi Ed,
I did run the gear diffs in the front and rear.
I ran 300.000 front and 1000 rear.
See you at TITC!!

- Hi Phil,
I can only say that the 417 is definately an improvement over the 416.
It has more rear traction but still same steering, it changes direction faster.
I ran my snowbirds car outdoors already here in Thailand and as awesome it was indoor it is outdoors!

I'm sure you will not be dissapointed at all!!
Hope to see you soon!

- Steve
Already get pics from Snowbirds!

- Tyrus
The Tamiya car in general in very good over the curbs, soft spring also helps!

- Syndrome
For TC you already have all info
1/12 is same charger, additive.
Motor in Mod was New Orion Vortex 4.0T
Speedo was LRP stock spec
Radio: Sanwa Exzes X 2.4GHz
Thanks!

- Robert
Thanks for your message!

I still can't find a proper way to upload my set-ups.
Some one can give me some advice?

Thanks,
Jilles

Jilles - as an alternative to trying to upload files to RCTech you could upload files to any other web site and just link them here. (selfish plug) I've been hosting a wiki that holds a collection of racing information, pictures and setups. If you create a login account on my site, racerlog.com, you can edit pages, and upload PDF files like we have done here...

http://racerlog.com/wiki/T.O.P._Photon#Setups
http://racerlog.com/w/images/3/39/Ho...up_11-6-10.pdf

Just in case your interested I've created a basic & empty page for the Tamiya 417 here-

hi Jilles, what's the difference in terms of driving feel between a 300k oil gear diff vs a front spool? isn't 300k oil almost a spool?

Hanulec,
Thanks for your quick response!
I already got some help from others who made the editable sheet smaller in size. Thanks anyways! Nice website btw!

Overgear,
300K feels pretty much as a spool in your hand but at the Snowbirds race my car had a lot more steering at the short hairpin corners. It might be little bit difficult for the regular driver. Outdoors I haven't really tested it as outdoors the spool seems to be the better choice.

Attached finally my set-up from the Snowbirds and Futaba Cup last month which is the track for the upcoming TITC race!!

Hi Jilles,
Of the two setups, which would you suggest to use as a base for the TITC? as I see they have pretty different front ends (straight + Gear diff, sweep + Spool). You mention the snowbirds car worked well there.

I'm guessing the thick oil and softer srping is to help with the temperatures, right? I also notice the max length top link, what is the difference?

Cheers
Ed
