On large tracks where you need lots of high speed, use the larger pinion/spur combination, this yields more inertia to the transmission and allows you to be slightly faster, but hampers slightly the acceleration (when your engine needs to move more weight, needs to apply more torque (and in this case, is rotating weight).

On smaller tracks the same ratio with smaller pinion/spur combo is more related to acceleration (due to their rotating mass).

In our cars you have to choose and see if permits to mesh correctly to the 1st gear, if all two meshes, much probably I'll choose the larger combo on a larger track, but this is going to finetune the car up to a level that probably you need to pass each lap by the same place, braking ever on the same place and accelerating as needed to see any difference (and probably is something like 0.01 or 0.02 secs).

I told the theory behind the same rations on different pinion/spur combos, you need to try for yourself and see if worths to you.
Thanks Corse-R.

And also, on the 0.8 second gear:

26/52 and 27/54 do yield "2" as well. Should there be a 56T Spur, 28/56 would have yielded "2", as well. See the pattern? Now, at back on the stand and just run the car!

food for thought.

And yes, Kawahara does have the 56T.

so, here it is: 28/56 yields "2", as well.

Guess, we will have about 0.1* range of gearing ratio to play around with.

*0.1 is the rounded off number, as I don't wanna go through with too many decimal places, make me headache, ya know? I'm a flunkie; gimme a break.

Default Question

What does it mean by increasing and decreasing preload of the springs?

increase preload meaning turning the spring collar down and compress the spring and go figure out the decreasing preload!

Where did it go?

Does anyone have the problem of lose brake pin on the right rear bulkhead like I did? In this case, I lost mine. Was cleaning my car till I notice there WAS something missing.

I'm glad it wasn't the 24K brake pin I was about to use, right? Manticore? RClover?

looks like the brake pads pushed it either in or out of place.
