Spools are used pretty much all the time on rubber tire/asphalt. One ways are sometimes used on rubber/carpet, depending on driving style it seems like. Spools are always a safe bet to start with, you can use a one-way if you feel you need more steering on entry (off power)

Interesting, who makes the world cvd's ? Do you have a part number ?
Thanks.

I just got the FT TC5 not the r or the f and was wondering is the kit setup any good for rubber or should I build it using one of the team driver's setup as a starting point?

I'm looking for some TC5 parts and upgrades:

A battery hold-down strap (or two)...if you tape your batteries here's your chance to get rid of that strap that's just taking up space in your box.

One-way and spool...bonus points (cash) for slipper spool...maybe you've tried one or both of these and find you prefer the diff (happens all the time) here's your chance to cash it in.

PM me with what you've got. Thanks.

I'm really looking forward to my TC5 adventure. I will be running Vintage Trans Am with it after YEARS of flogging TC3's and TC4's. The thing I'm most excited about is the ability to make tuning changes without disassembling half the darn car. The TC3's work fine, especially for VTA, but MAN I hate tuning them. Find a setup that sorta works and drive around it. The new car should be a TREAT. Thanks Associated!

I'm pretty sure that all of the team driver's rubber setups are based on the ITF chassis and top plate so you may want to consider getting those. I know that when i went from the standard chassis (I have one of the first run TC5's, got it about a month or so after they came out) to the IFT chassis i had to completely change the set up on the car but it made a WORLD of difference in the handling.

You can get them from Titanium racing@ www.titaniumracing.com, over seas, very worth the wait and free up the car alot. I also use the layshaft that they manufacture.

+1 on the itf setup, get both top and bottom ITF decks and use the o-rings on the rear four screws in the top deck, this too will free up the car. The standard FT chassis is too stiff and will not let the car rotate.
Also go out and get the new belt tensioners PN#31184 and some after market bearings, the factory ones are stiff and you will need extras anyway. I use www.avidrc.com, they are a buck a piece and five for ceramics bearings. Clean out the grease packed in the bearings and oil them up, this will help alot.
