Speed Passion Thread

Good too see some traffic on this thread. I recently installed a GT 2.0 lpf esc in my xxx cr buggy and ran for the first time last night. 35/78 gear 17.5 Ballistic motor. 101212 stock software and used the same settings as my SC. After 5 min. runs the motor and esc were barely warm and I had more than enough power.

I used the same setup as David Perez posted on the first page. Beware that item no. 13 rpm delay might show different rpm numbers on LCD box with 212 stock software. Value 3 seems too work best for 17.5 motor on item 13 (rpm delay) I have too thank David Perez for starting this thread and helping me setup my SC10, and now my 2wd buggy Rocks as well!!!

With 35/78 gearing I figured the fdr at 5.41. The 35 pin. was the biggest that would fit and worked ok with GTB (no timing) but the motor never temped over 100 degrees. So I left the gearing the same for my new setup and it seems too work well. Sorry for the bits and pieces of info. guys, I will try to post a complete setup sheet with motor temps. next week after I race.

Glad I found this. I put a GT 2.0 LPF in my B4 a couple weeks ago. Running 422 Stock software right now with a Nemesis 17.5. Haven't had a chance to hit the track with it yet, but after about 8 minutes of hard running in the street motor temps were right at 150, performance was awesome. Wondering if anyone has experience switching from 422 Stock to 528 Stock, and if there are significant improvements running the 528 software? Particularly in motor temp, ambient temps here will be mid-90's or higher in another month. I've already heard about the Nemesis losing power when it gets warm, so the cooler I can keep it the better. Will probably pick up a D3 17.5 or 13.5 when I can find one, but Nemesis is what I have for now, so really don't need any of the non-helpful Nemesis bashing BS I got in the on-road thread. It's actually an Open class so we're not limited on motor, but the track is tight and slick. I think Joor is running a 13.5 without full boost, that should tell you something LOL.
Have you tried 101212 stock? It's the latest and greatest. I would load that so that we all can compare notes.

Timing on Nemesis is at 0deg, doing it all with speedo. using the charlie barnes 422 settings from the site, FDR is 6.24. Performance is great, just keeping an eye on heat because we are racing outdoors. Looks like guys running the new software are much cooler, even with lower FDR. may need to load it and see.
One more question. the only program box i have is hw. Can i load sp software with it from sp site, or would i have to load 212 stock from hw?

My first setup for venturing into the 2wd buggy stock is with speed passion.
Running gt pro stock v2.1 stock firmware and a v3 17.5t motor
Final drive is At 5.2 with 69 spur and 34 pinion.
Haven't had my first race day yet I hope everything goes smooth haha

Your gearing is way off. Good for non boost, but you need to gear like a mild mod. What buggy you running? I'd start maybe with a 76/78 spur depending on the tranny ratio and pinions in upper mid 20's. You could always start with the default settings which are pretty mild. Check temps every few laps.
You could try my setup from the first page and just adjust gearing for a buggy.

The V2.1 comes with 528 stock. I just picked up another and that is what was on mine. I loaded 212 right away.

I'm running a tamiya trf201, also with the speed passion fan you get included with the esc. Do they suck down or push away?
Does the 528 software have the boosted function on it?

I see. Yes 528 has boost. You will have to DL no timing blinky mode. It's all in the V1.35. The fan sucks down. I ran zero timing with no fan this past winter in VTA w/17.5 without heat issues.
Did you eliminate the slipper to fit a 69 spur? I wouldn't run without one.

Download no timing blinky mode??
So when I'm running practice to learn throttle control. And running boosted
Should have a fdr of like 6 or 7?
Na im still running a slipper
