He sounds more like a basher, than a racer.. Rounded screws, replaced one side of the gear set, over tight slipper..

It is strange Some people are not having gear issues. I think it may be tracks that have good size jumps that is beating on car more than it can handle. There is no way. Torque value could be set for tiny screws in plastic reliably. X-ray has made new bulkheads for the 16 so they know their is. Issue. As the other guy stated I don't mind buying 20 bucks in gears once in a while. I do however mind when the issue is so bad that gears are on back order everywhere all over the world and I now have a useless car and miss races.
None of these companies ever admit a issue. Always side step it. That's par for the course. But at least the others keep good stock in their parts that fail often.

+1 well said.
If the 16 bulkheads fix the problem i can honestly say my car is bullet proof and i no that saying is thrown around a lot but you tell me one other kit that can race a full season without breaking one single part.

I was running 6.5t and all graphite/comp gears throughout with no issues. Only break I had was a bent right rear axle clearing an 8th scale tracks triple. My fault as my shock oils and springs were not set up for the track.
In a world were very few businesses fully manufacture and produce their own products, Xray is amazing as they are doing it all in house.

I race my 13 and 14 a lot, did put regularly some copper grease on gears but never broke one (composite gears).
Did race the 15, in fact 3 days non stop 10h a day then 2 days of racing and didn't have any issue.
Gears are slightly worn after a while, just keep lubbing them, check often and replace both before they break.

Besides getting the slipper not too tight there are 2 things that may require attention :
- I try to avoid landing big jumps on full power (6.5 plus boost)
- Even more important is how you set the brakes. Off course you need some but too much hard braking could arm the gears a lot, even worst if your slipper is too tight obviously..

Rounded screws, poor tips on his arrowmax tools.

I only asked him to replace one gear because he only had a few meets on his steel gears. It must have bent the diff gear when the teeth broke off because he said it sounded noisy and then it stopped within the first 2minutes. I bet if I have a closer look, the diff housing may have striped threads in it too.

Slipper!!! New drivers just done understand what a slipper is for.

I know a lot of questions have been asked about the XB4 Offset but I wasn't able to determine what kind of rims I need to purchase to fit my 2015 XRay XB4 buggy. I bought it used and it has Exotek 12mm Rear Hex adapters that are 9mm wide, the previous owner gave me some JConcept rims with tires but I can't find a part number to compare the offsets.

I have a lot of Pro-Line Velocity 2.2" wheels (Part # 2736-02) for TLR 22, RB6 and B4.1buggies but I believe they are the wrong offset since there is barely any thread available for the wheel nut. I was thinking of maybe purchasing the Exotek rear hex adapters that are 7mm wide but even then I don't know if that would give me the correct offset.

So if anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciate, I am looking for rear rims that will work with the 9mm hex adapters or if anyone runs pro-line rims with their XB4 what adapters are they using.

The Front wheels listed are 2wd. Not 4wd.. You need a ZX6 or 22-4 for 12mm Hex.

I have been driving the 14spec and then upgraded to the 15 spec when it came out. I never had a single issue with gears in my 15 spec as I run a Orion r10.1 with the Orion VST2 6.5t motor and center diff upto 100k. In fact the only thing i have broke in more then a year of racing is 2 front bulkheads (which i heard was fixed in the 16spec). so with all that being said I would try and point out the good/great things about a car rather then the faults which in my opinion are none. I have had the b44.3, ZX6, and d410v4 and cant say the same for those cars.

as for my gears in the 14spec I did blow 2 sets but after fixing my slipper I never had another issue. I mean they are composite gears, if you are on full power when landing a jump which we ALL Do from time to time or break really hard into a corner then you should expect to blow a set from time to time.

with all this said I hear Rc America will have the 16specs in by the end of the week so I should have mine by monday or tuesday hopefully. Cant Wait

Not sure I am following your response. The PRO2736-02 rims are rear wheels not front and I was under the assumption 2wd and 4wd Buggies use the same rear tires so I am not following.

Maybe I am confused but I believe I have rear wheels that will work though I am not sure about the offsets.
