Hi guys,
I currently run on the L version of this fantastic car.
I'd like to buy some stuffs as Christmas gift and I'm asking questions about some optionnal parts:
-how and when use AM18-1? How does it affect the behaviour of the car?
-same questions for damper #3?
-AM26?
-AT21S?
-AT28?
-C06?
-ST24?
-A700-IAS and AM20?
-How better are P18/P19 than original P01/P02?
Thanks a lot,
G-rem

AM18-1 - for shortening of the upper arm. It increases the camber gain at up travel of suspension and reduces the roll of car also.
AM26 should be used with AM06S on the rear suspension. It gives the possibility to have very low roll center at still good level of camber gain.
AT21S has 0.5mm lower ball height than AT21. It extend the range of roll center setting.
AT28 - precise metal axis for 10T gears inside of geardiff.
C06 - carbon version of AM19 for old A700 cars. I don't recommend it for A700L and A700EX cars.
ST24 - steel replacement of AT21 for suspension's links. ST24 has 0.7mm lower ball height than AT21 and provides increased operation angle for P13 ball ends.
A700-IAS provides increased Ackermann setting but reduces max steering angle.
AM20 should be used as the component of A700-IAS.
P18/19 are shorter than P01/P02. Material of P18/19 is more hard and fragile.

Sorry, I don't do short !
The A700 is the very first product from Awesomatix ( released over a year ago )
The A700 EX and A700 L are the latest models. The EX can be used in the transverse motor configuration as well as longitudinal motor configuration. Whereas the L cannot be used in transverse motor configuration.
The EX and L's bottom deck differs from the original A700 in that it has cuts to allow more flex with the ability to use optional parts to stiffen it up to be similar to the original A700's stiffness. The EX and L also have counter bores for greater adjustment of lower A-arm position ( up to .5mm lower ) for lower roll center. Also, the EX and L can use the optional one piece "floating" servo mount whereas the original A700 cannot.
There are other differences but those are the most dramatic differences between the two new models ( EX and L ) compared to the original A700.
The L version has these main differences from the EX version. Narrower bottom deck , so it does not rub as much as the EX when rolling. Also different flex characteristics because the A700L is narrower and there is no recess for motor clearance because it does not allow transverse motor configuration.
I also believe the L ships with soft springs standard whereas the EX has the original standard springs. I'm actually not 100% sure what the EX ships with. Other than that, I believe there are minor differences.
I'm very happy with the L version. At least for me, so far on carpet , I have not felt the need to use the car in Transverse motor configuration and it costs less than the EX version. I am told that the EX chassis can be easier to drive in Mod ( in LONG motor mode ! ) but I've been running a 4.5 and 5.0 with the L and have been happy so far.
I would consider buying the L and later, if you feel the need, getting the optional EX bottom deck when they become available again.
Only thing I can suggest is to order the standard springs if you order the L version. I've been using them instead of soft springs that come with the L kit. This is in Stock and Mod.
Also consider AM26 and AM06S and AM18-1. They are nice tuning options. Also, if you are running mod, get the optional metal gear diff gears.
(Edit ! I did not notice that Oleg posted above about the very new EXL configuration )
Hope that helps,
Jake D.

I haven't run transverse for a year.. I found the car changed direction slower as the mass is less central, which wasn't good for tight chicanes on carpet. But, apart from that, does anyone think there is an advantage to using this orientation, or perhaps certain situations where it is the best option?
