The picture I posted is of Ralph's car but I'm pretty sure that is what Ralph is doing with the electrical terminals. Not sure why he has that aluminum plate under the chassis brace, but I'm sure runs the old MBX5 turnbuckle chassis braces for more flex. I actually run them on my MBX5R and ditched the ProSpec aluminum chassis braces that came with the 5R.

I gave the turbuckle braces a try. They work well in smooth track situations where there is not alot of traction. They do, however, tend to get sloppy after very little use. I also didnt open the mounting holes in the body to account for the additional flex = broken brand new body

Yesterday, after one gallon, a stock Mugen clutch bearing blew up on me. So I got a pack of 10 Boca bearings, and will start swapping them like you suggested. Thanks for the tip!

here's another option instead of the turnbuckle braces.

all you need is a couple of small rubber bands or the hair bands. you remove ballcup from throttle and stretch the bands from the ballend of throttle to fuel inlet nipple under the fuel line. works like a charm. and for what its worth, the bigger races check for some type of throttle return to prevent runaways. i have used rubber bands for three years on the rcpro circuit and have passed everytime using these.

i have the 5R for 3 mons. ,so far no break issue,clearing the triple at ease , corner speed is awesome ,but the only thing i dont like is the bump steer ,but i still can manage to win LOL .....................

What is the width on mugen rims? I am looking at setup sheets and I do not have any mugen rims around to set my droop setting so if someone would measure one and post it up I would appreciate it.

How does bump steer effect the handling of the car??

Drop a 2mm spacer under the steering ballend on the upright. Or install the RC8 ballend and outer tierod. This will take the crazy bumpsteer out. Also, the car will steer more consistent and react quicker.
