The shock springs where meant for the Cobra GT.

There is nothing harder than the springs coming with the car for the X3 GT.
The harder spring set mentioned in the X3 manual is not available and has never been.

I have both cars, the X3 GT and also the Cobra GT.

My choice would be the Serpent.

YouŽll find the kit car here:

http://www.serpent.com/product/600040

The nice thing is that there are round about 108 optional parts listed and available. No need for third party components and trouble.

If you go with the Serpent, get the kit not the RTR. Different chassis and parts.

On the X3 or IGT8 there are aluminum front mounts from the buggy. The rear buggy aluminum mounts do not work with the GT, as the chassis does not have kick in the back of the GT. There have been a few who have modified the parts to work.

Both kits your going to have to put more money in for race purpose. But like he said some bashing and some racing. Both would get the job done.

WOW !!!!! I just realized why I always WANTED a serpent..... I was thinking that I could get a serpent GT roller and build from there.... Maybe when I hit the lottery lol..... After seeing that this is pushing me more towards the IGT8 KIT.....I am just really serious about my time I'd rather spend more time behind the wheel then behind the screwdriver..... I really want my first GT card to be joyful not painful that's all (Great quality)....

I was under the assumption that if i got that perticular kit (IGT8) I would have everything that I really needed ..... except for the motor radio wheels tires and the body...

There will always be an infinite amount of hopups and upgrades you can do. There is no completely hopped up kit out there.

Either kit will be fine for your purposes. It's all what you want to put into it. All parts are attainable for both kits if you choose to add any or break. I race the Serpent GT and have not broken a thing. Have fun in whatever you choose.

The IGT8 Pro does come with everything you need to race as a kit. If you go to this link you can see why. This is what you would need to buy in order to bring a X3 GT up to the IGT8 Pro

http://www.igt8.com/IGT8-X3-GT-PRO-C...Kit_p_224.html

I think it is easy to see the great reason for running the IGT8 Pro. Not to mention the great price point. The IGT8 has upgraded breaks, internal ratio, tank size, motor mounts, clutch, roll bar for easy caring (no other brand has this), pinions, etc...

It handles great, is very strong and reliable as well. Definitely a contender in any race for sure.

I couldn't tell you if the driving characteristics are completely different, I believe they use the same chassis. But I can tell you the IGT8 Pro Kit has all the upgrades you will definitely want to bring your car to RACE ready status. The IGT8 Pro kit was designed and packaged for racers by a racer.

Either way you choose just enjoy yourself, GT8 is AWESOME!
