Tamiya TA05 Touring Sedan

Does anyone if the shock mounting ball studs that come with the TRF "Special Blue" set are better than the original ball studs (gun metal color) of the TA05?
Just wondering if I should change them.
Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the "brass" ones that come in the kit? Just use the stock TA05 ones...

Also, what should I expect as far as free spin? Will the drivetrain free up over time, or should I be worried that things are binding?

I would not worry about the drivetrain unless you have made any major errors.
Mine is built with stock bearings that I did not clean.
I used 1 notch for both front and rear. This helps free up the drivetrain. The belts will loosen after a couple of days of running at which time you can move up to 2 notches. Don't worry the belts won't skip in stock.

Do you know what the toe would be with the 1A & 1B. I'm trying to get about 2 1/2 degrees of rear toe. I currently have the 1 degree rear hubs and a one way in the front. It is a stock motor running on rubber tires car.

I prefer that or less for Stock class with a spool. So if you are looking for 2.5 rear toe, then the chart says you need a 1B rear block with a 1XC block (if you are using 0degree rear hubs). You said you have 1degree rear hubs... so then you can stick the my setup of a 1XC/1X block. The chart says this will give you 1.5dgree rear toe plus your 1 degree rear block to equal 2.5degree rear toe. Oh, and you get a basic chart when you purchase the 1X# blocks. Hope this helps...
So can you purchase a set of the "X"blocks or does it come in individual package, currently I'm running a 0 degree on my rear and the stock block, and in my integy set-up the reading was 1 degree and I would like it to stay that way, so is it really in a 1 degree setting considering that I'm uing my stock blocks, sorry this block are confusing never ha any experience with this.

Trying to figure this block thing out.
So the stock car comes with 2 degree rear hubs, and 0 degree inboard toe, right?
So if I want 1.5 per side, I want the X block in the front of the rear arms, and the XC in the rear of the rear arms?
Adn if I want 1.0 per side , I want the X up front and the XB out rear right?

I was just reading the TRF415 Forum. Since most of us know that the 415 has pretty much the same suspension options as the TA-05, I expect many of us are reading both these (or the TB-02, Evo III or a couple of other Forums for cars that use these suspensions). If not, I think you might want to take a look at what Martin Crisp has been saying recently. See page 360, message number 10797.
