OS plug does not last period. it is the wrong plug to begin with, that is why only Picco plugs (#6) are strongly recommended

Put a Picco 6 in it and try again. If it still does it, change the rod. Might not be a bad idea to go ahead and change the rod anyway.

If I would give a Picco user an advice, I would certainly not tell them that "only Picco plugs are recommended" certainly because they are not the best plugs out there, they are the most expensive ones though.....

Go for GRP plugs, yes the ones you buy in an orange box of 5, for the same price as 2 and a half picco plug...

GRP plugs DON'T break when abused, and won't fall in your engine.....
Also with GRP you can actually see if you have a 6 or a 7 in your hands....

Just my 2 cents..

Hi, it's actually my engine that has been popping plugs, I've basically run the Picco P5TH or P5TC plugs in the car since march this year (at the time i could only get P5's, not P6's), and only on my last time out, it has started popping them. The engine has run flawless the entire time at about 100 degrees C, even after 20/30 min mains. The plugs upon inspection have not burnt out, but appear pushed in after the first coil. I'm certainly interested to hear of any other plugs that work in these engines, as with exchange rates atm, 1 picco plug costs about $18 AUD, for the price of 10 plugs, I could nearly have a new engine.

Cheers

From what I hear, ODonnell has a Novarossi taper, so I wouldn't use it.

Only other plugs I know work and not leak, are OS, Sirio, GRP.
From my experience the OS seem to last the longest, Sirio right behind the OS.

when ever anyone on here recommends Picco anything, somebody starts crying... i dont get it?

picco motor works great with picco plug... wow! who would have thunk it?

i have been running this picco plug for 3 race weekends, including a 2 day regional.

take the advise from Kamikaze.

crank shaft, back plate, timing.
The crank was bored out a little larger, but overall timing was brought down a little, and the back plate is modded for flow.
In my honest opinion, there almost no performance difference between the 2. However, if you can increase the timing on the evo 3 like the evo 2, that'll be a hot motor. Increasing timing like the IDM's by putting a shim under the sleeve will work well, just a matter of finding a shim. they don't sell the IDM shims alone.

I have heard that a Novarossi .28 head shim has the right inside diameter to make a sleeve shim for the Picco .12's. You would just have to cut down the outside dia. Haven't tried myself.
