Hi Jilles

with the upcoming release of the new 416X do you know if our previous 416's can be upgraded to the 'X' spec like the first 416 was easily upgraded to the WE edition

what effect does laying all the shocks down 1 hole on the shocks mounts have to the handling please??

many thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions

Jilles,

Do you know if the Tamiya one-piece thrust bearing will work on the Xray 008/009?

I'm not so sure but Jilles won't use Tamiya TRF anymore, he will be moved to Team Orion.
Here below the information link:

Jilles many thanks for your suggestions, set-ups, and all that you having done during these years .

Regards.

Why would Jilles stop using Tamiya cars just because he switched to Orion motors?

hmmm....

Kyosho do own Orion

However... that article also mentions that Jilles will be using Shepard cars in on-road gas (not Kyosho's) and a Tamiya in 1/8th Off-road... so I would assume he's still running a Tamiya in 1:10th TC. Note there is no mention about him using Orion electric kit... just the GP engines...

Hopefully Jilles can pop on here and confirm/deny... the above is mostly speculation after all

He did mention a while back when talking about testing LiPo he was using Orion batteries. No-body seemed to pick up on it then It sounds from the RedRC article that now he's an actual employee of Orion, rather than just a driver

Either way, good luck Jilles, hope to hear more reports on how your testing is going and thanks for all your help! Hopefully it will continue for a long while!

Jilles will of course remain with Tamiya for both Electric Touring car, and now also for 1/8th off road, and has signed a deal recently for Shepherd for 1/8th and 1/10th gas on road.

Hello all,

Just to let you know,

I will stay with Tamiya running their electric and buggy 1/8.
For Nitro I use Shepherd V10 and V8.

The deal I made with Orion is separate from which car I use.
Look at Andy Moore, Teemu Leino, Atsushi Hara just to name a few, do they run Kyosho?

Oke, keep this topic running!

Jilles

Hi Jilles

How do you fit your LiPo batteries in the TRF416 WE? I use Orion lipos and it is a flat pack, how do you keep it in its place? Just with the battery strapping tape?

Will you be switching the electronics for all of your electric stuff over to Orion as well? Motors and Speed controls?

Hi Jilles,

I have a few questions regarding tire inserts selection. I understand this is a complex topic, but I hope you can help

1) Would you use harder tire insert for warmer or cooler track temperature? And please explain the reasons.

2) Basically, can you please share how you select the firmness of tire inserts? Please elaborate as much as possible, I am pretty sure your insights could benefic most racers.

3) Do you use firmer or softer insert when the track is cool and also high grip?

4) From your experience, does harder insert provides higher or lower level of traction? How about corner speed?

Thanks very much
