Hi guys ...

First of all sorry for not posting but yesterday i was at the track all day ... im participating as a translator for all teams as i speak spanish, portuguese and english and as assistant for technical checking ... (so i have been measuring, weighting and seen all cars !!! heheheh ehhehehe)

Well ... after 2 days this are my comments :

- Yesterday was open practice day and at the end of the day we had controlled (lap timing system) practice in order to "rearrange" the original list of pilots for today cause today was the qualifiers ...

- During the open practice day i saw all pilots doing 1 tank of fuel and running to modify something on the cars ... the track its very technical with multilevel sections ... there are two sections where the car enters into a corner and exit on uphills ... more than suspension setup the track its asking a lot of skills of piloting strategy ...

- Yesterday the best pilots on my view (im right down the pilot tower so i have full view of the track and development of the event) are the japaneses from Yokomo (MASAMI) and Kyosho (ITO), followed by Serpent (PAOLO MORGANTI from Venezuela).

- Yesterday Barry Baker was doing "nothing" at the track, the laptimes he was geting were not the best but at the end of the day he was doing so much better ...

- One big problem for the pilots (i was to fight with a couple !!!) was the use of the MAZDA 6 body that is not permitted "NOW" on IFMAR (it appears as PENDING OF APROVAL) and various pilots were using that body but we (the official tech officer and i) had to not permit the use of that body for the first controlled practice. Today at mid-day mr. Graaf from IFMAR approved the use of the body for the preworlds due to the presure of pilots asking to.

- Today was another different thing ... we started with a sunny day but during the evening have to stop activities due to rain.

- The results for the qualifiers at the end of the day are, for the first 4 places :

1.- ITO (Kyosho)
2.- MASAMI (Yokomo)
3.- Baker (Associated)
4.- Tiroli (i dont remember the car he is runing).

Now ... as far as i know the fight its just between ITO and MASAMI ... the new prototype its JUST AWESOME and Masami is a hell of a good pilot and person, very professional and very very very race oriented (you can see him during the open practice watching other strong pilots doing his practices, thing that you dont see on other pilots).

Its very good to see that masami its doing, till now, the 2nd place, cause yesterday during the controlled practice he had a problem with the rear of the car, the wheel locknuts of the rear wheels came loose and the aluminum hex nut EAT the wheels so he ended entering every 3 laps to pits to re-screw the lock nuts ... but he really managed to run almost with front traction for the last 3 minutes of controlled practice.

Well guys, i have to go to sleep and be awake 6am to go to the track tomorrow !!! ...

I have 102 pictures so far on 2272x1708 resoluting and 23 .mov 40seconds videos ... and i dont know how to post them on somewhere !!!

This is me as one of the race officers ... im working on the technical check of all cars (to check if all pass the IFMAR rulebook ... its incredible how many drivers including top ones have out-of-book bodies that they have to work on-the-hour to re-check and pass) ...

The "GT6" thing its just a "joke" cause masami said to me that they use 2 or 3 chassis and a lot of different pieces to mount the prototype, officially the car was on the race as YOKOMO PROTOTYPE, thats the name the yokomo team used to the technical inspection ... (Me and 2 more guys did the all technical inspection so was a great chance to know all the pro cars) ...

Sorry Modellor, Masami asked for not to take and publish pictures of his car ...

Tironi was using a Kyosho FW-05R kit ...

Barry baker abandoned the race with a mechanical problem after a serpent car hit him on the rear ... (he broke the rear suspension) ...

Masami "i think" fried his engine ... i was at just 1 meter or so from his mechanic and have a short video of all the mechanic operation during the failure ... finally he did a last run over the last minute with the low needle WIDE OPEN and the high speed needle very very rich too ...

Any other wuestion just ask !!
