Yokomo GT-4 Thread
We need a Yok thread working here. All who have a yokomo
GT-4, or who are thinking about getting one please join in.
I have a quick question about the 2-speed. Does anyone know if you can get a Centax Cluch to work with the GT-4 2-speed.

there was a Yok thread but it sank down the page due to a lack of interest.
i don't think there is anything that fits without mods.
i'm hoping Yokomo bring one out quickly thats compatible with the low c.g. engine mounts and flywheel.

From what I understand the to use the mugen you have to use the mugen 2 speed to. That is also the same with the serpent. I am tring to avoid buying both the 2-speed and clutch. I havent heard anything about the ofna. The gears mesh perfect? Please tell me man. But yokomo does need to come out with something.

Check this site out. You can get tire cheap. Shipping can take some time but the tires are good.Online R-C Model Shop

I heard the Mugen centax also works. I know of a few guys who run them. One of them told me you need to slightly enlarge the engine mount holes on the chassis.
I'm currently in the process of putting a Centax and Serpent style 2 speed but need to order a custom 2 speed shaft from smitty.

I am part of the Yokomo Forum and they do have some good info so if you havent been to that site you should check it out. I was just trying to see if there was anyone over here that had some more good info.
Dan,
You say you have to make the holes in the chassis a bit bigger. I have a ZSpeed chassis and the holes are a good bit bigger than the ones in the Yok chassis. Do you think or know or have heard if you can get a direct fit instead of having to cut the chassis.
Smitty, (If you are here?)
How much are you asking for you shafts?

I think it should work. If you want specific info regarding use of the Mugen Centax, try contacting Wayne. I talked to him at my LHS about this. He's been running the Mugen Centax on his GT4 for some time. He can be found at www.rcracing.com message boards. His screenname there is of course 'Wayne'.
Smitty is charging $15 for each shaft, not including shipping. From what he said, they're titanium. He also makes the front layshaft in titanium also for $15. But the 2 speed shaft he is making is only for use of the Serpent 2 speed.

I'm not sure about any specific threads but I'm sure you make a post about Centax clutch for the GT4, Wayne will probably see it.

Has anyone tried the Fast 30mm rear tyres?
Do you need the 190mm rear setup to use them?
