Yes the replacement will be the same for now. it wont change until enough people have had the problem and complained about it that they actually look into it. I think it will help having those pictures of the brace bent before it breaks as well.
It took a few months and a lot of us emailing RCAmerica and Xray about the offset hanger problem on the XB4 before they actually did anything about it.
I think it will help in the meantime to at least put a longer screw in so the threads come out the top of the hanger, and possibly a washer and nut on top.

I would even be fine with them not replacing the part if they would simply acknowledge there might be a problem. I'm no mechanical engineer, and even I can tell this design is flawed. Take a look at the rear hanger of an Associated car; its well protected, and not hanging below the chassis desperately asking to be broken.
Great questions. I'm guessing their answer would be "we didn't experience any problems in our testing".
I wish I could tell clients that when they call with bugs in my software. "Sorry, didn't experience that in my testing, thus its impossible for you to be having undue problems".

Half mil shim under the rear block should be more than sufficient to make sure the chassis hits the ground first. I have sone fiberglass shims made by rsd under mine currently. I'm sure he could be convinced to make some specifically for the xb2 if the interest is there.

I don't think it's the chassis. And from what I see, the impacts breaking and bending this piece are only doing so because it touches the ground on landings.
A strong material I don't think would transfer the stress to the chassis.

BTW....to anyone that doesn't have a backup..a new one from Amain (not in stock...) is $30. There's a popular website for auctions that sells both rear arm mounts, inserts, hinge pins, and front arm mount for $40 shipped...
hint hint.

thx
Purchased - I'm hoping I'm a lucky one and won't need this. But, I know all hinge pins bend at some point if an arm ever breaks...

I'm nearly complete on my XB2 CE and I'm curious how everyone feels on the lack of gear cover? Good/Bad? I can see positive aspects such as less weight, and less to deal with during maintenance. I wonder if the gears rub on the body from time to time though, especially when the car ends on it's lid for example. I makes sense on carpet, no dirt to worry about...and definitely shouldn't be any rocks! haha.
Does the DE come with a gearcover?
Thanks!

The OEM piece must be made out of 6061...If you're interested in purchasing one out of 7075, PM me and give me a heads up. I want to gather a list to give to exotek to prove there's a need.
