I ALWAYS run a fan. More specifically the ones that Boss sells. Why wouldn't you want to keep your motor 30-40 degrees cooler thus lasting longer?

I 2nd that on the fan. Those fans are awesome! Instant 30+ temp drop.

Default Fans on Motors

I strongly recommend the use of an external cooling fan on the motor.

Using a cooling fan helps the motor stay cool and and will help increase product life span and will help reduce the possibility of overheating the motor!

I have always used one and will always use one! The amp draw for our High Speed Fans is extremly minimal. The motor in the fan is a very small BRUSHLESS MOTOR and is very powerful!

but any fan is better then no FAN!

Gearing Question,

Just placed an order for 17.5 boss motor fully blinged up with upgrading bearings and fan.

I am running a Black Diamond v2 has anyone had any experience with gearing round small and med sized track's?

Also what kinda timing do you recommend on the motor?

I don't know much about the BD speedo. But I would suggest you do this. Turn the timing up all the way on the motor and run the same pinion you would with a duo if that is what you were running before, then slowly start to go bigger on the pinion if its not hot.

What motor were you running previous to the Boss motor?

Packed and ready to go...I will be hitting up the Jackson RC Memorial Day race this Saturday the 29th. This race is going to be a lot of fun with some serious competition attending. Team drivers Larry Fairtrace, Jason Schreffler, Rui Goncalves, and Kenny Lambert will have there hands full in the super stock class for sure. I will have a supply of motors with me just in case...

Juan, Mark, and Arvin will be battling it out for that top spot in 17.5 with some action packed heats. They will be up against a few of the Nations better drivers. Mike Haynes, Mike Herald JR., Jeff Cuffs to name a few that are registered in the stock class.

Hope to see everyone within driving distance at the track on Saturday!

Just wanted to thank everyone that was at the Jackson race supporting Boss RC. The team did great even though they we were dealing with a lot of problems. Everyone put forth 100% trying to make the shows and most made it with the exception of me, I think...LOL!

Rui you drove your butt off in both 13.5 and 17.5. Taking down the third spot behind Mike Haynes and Scooby Horton in 17.5. Mark Dawson got served a plate of get out of the way or I'll put in the wall, then getting put in the wall...! Tough brake but there's always next time....your still learning the locals around here...!

Joe Wright, Arvin Nano, and Juan Ruiz all were driving cars with Boss 17.5, making the A-main! Congrats goes out to them!

In 13.5 Jason, Larry, and Rui made the show. And there cars were the best I seen them all day. Larry my bad I won't let it happen again!

Here's the A's!

Default Possible 11.5T offering?

Hello to the Boss. May I know if you may be offering an 11.5T motor in the near future? We run 11.5T for stock classes rather than 10.5T here in Asia and was wondering if you could put one together for me. Thanks.

I am not sure about the 11.5 but Nathan's motors are awesome. I am sure if he makes them they will be winners just like the rest of them!
