Tamiya TRF415
this car is still capable to do great in any class, and for my point of view even tough it already 5 years old design this car still can be pushed for mod race and stock race.
Take this for example Masami Hirosaka still using Yokomo BD and still capable to compete with brand new 416,T209,

I have a 415 msx mre and I would like to convert over to the short arms. I already have the arms but I can't figure out which suspension blocks I need to increase track width back to where it is with the standard arms and still keep my toe settings.
here is what i'm currently running.
front front - 1b
front rear - 1a
rear front - 1xa
rear rear - 1b
I'm also running 46mm universal dog bones. do you guys know if i'll need to change my axles/universal joints once i switch over to the short arms?

Use D D front and E XA rear.
I run on high grip carpet with jaco greens with white springs front, blue springs rear. I use D-C front for some inboard toe, but sugested D D for a baseline width.

TRF 415 MSX Centre Drive Conversion
Hello all,
A little confused with how the TA-05 centre drivetrain conversion works with the MSX. There are a few questions i need answered.
A.
Do i use the TA-05 Center shaft? Or continue to use the original 415 MSX shaft? I the reason for this is, when putting the shaft into the car it seems to come up short? It does fit but I am worried it will slide out.
B.
This in turn leaves me with the question, do I use the original bearing holders from msx drivetrain? or the msx mre bearing holders? or any at all?
C.
Where do i get these 4 mm shims to space out the shaft? What do they do exactly?
Cheers
Edward

You'll need to use the original TA05 shaft iirc, however it's been a while since I did this mod, and I can't remember properly... you may need to try the MSX shaft. As for the bearing holders, if you've got an MSX, use the ones from that, but turn them round so they push the bearings in.
the 4mm shims you are after are TAM53586. just use them to space out the shaft.

Hi, guys and gals. I just picke up a 415 MSXX and I have been looking all over for carpet rubber tire setups and can not find much. I have gone about 40 pages back on this thread and did find a few set ups that I wrote down. I have also done searches on here and google but can not find much. I found some setups on Tamiya USA site, but for some reason the setups will not come up.
I would like to find Rheinard's rubber setup from Vegas this year, but can not seam to find it. If you guys could help me out or point me in the right direction, that would be great.

I have seen this site and it is very informative, but the setups will not show up for me. I go to the rubber car setup section and then click on some of the setups and they just take me to a search type website. The Corey Lewis setups will not open for me, they just take me to a page that has no setups on them.
I also can not see any setups on that site for the MSXX. Is there any whre to see Rheinards setups for mod rubber from Vegas the last 2 years?

Try right-clicking on the pdf link and doing a "save-as". Then save the file to your desk top. Some times this will work when links seem to fail. It has something to do with your browser...

My computer will not let me save it. As soon as I right click it and go to save as, I get a message that says "internet explorer was not able to open this site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found"
It's no biggie if I can not use the site. I guess I will just try some of the setups I found on this thread.

I just went to the Tamiya USA web site and the I did the right click there and it worked for the setup sheets. I could not get it to work at the other site though.
Thanks for the info on that.

Hey guys.
I know this has been mentioned before.
But what parts do i need to convert my 415msxx reedy race ed to have a internal ratio of 2.0? does it use the 18t pulley set from the DB01?
If some one could get me a list of part numbers that i need to do it that would be great
Cheers
Tom

Yes those are the correct pulleys. As for the belts, they are not Tamiya and I don't remember what they are (or how many teeth)...
