It seems the fan is no longer used. At least in the 10.5 I recieved back from Orion. My 10.5 was fast as can be then it slowed way down and became hard to turn the rotor. I contacted Joe Pillars at Orion. Told him what was going on. He said to send it to him. I did and recieved a new 10.5 without the fan. A long brass sleeve is in its place. I have not ran the motor yet. I will do that tomorrow.

But Orion showed some very good customer service thru Joe. Thanks a bunch. I will deffently continue to do business with them.

They're both OEM'd from Feigao, along with MANY other brushless motors.

All made to the specific specifications of the company selling it.

Wow... didn't realize all of the motors come from the same place. I agree, most likely they are built slightly differently per each brand's specs.

is the 10.5 the only one with the "turn" etched on the endbell? all the rest have "TOP"?

also, is the new rotor without the fan available for sale separately?

Not ALL of them, but I would venture to say about 1/2 of the motors out there.

*Under the Feigao umbrella- GM, Trinity, Peak, Orion, SpeedPassion & there's probably others.

*Then you have Novak, LRP, Castle Creations, Quark, Tekin and a few others I can't remember.

So the purple 10.5 is the same exact specs as my orion 10.5?

A purple motor for my cyclone would be AWESOME!

There all sintered, the older ones used to run fans in them but the newer versions have had them removed.

Chris I always start on 5.6 FDR and go from there depending on how flowing the track is. I know alot of people have been gearing @ 5.2 and lower but they are starting to get motors failing. You can normally smell when you have gone too far
