I'm now using new style Xray cluch. So I can tell the mod instruction.

- bore the Mugen 2 speed adaptor pin area to fit original 3mm pin, remember don't over-bore that area. Buy any 3mm pin to cut and fit to Mugen adaptor
- shim the 2nd gear around 1mm between the 2 speed housing and the gear
- buy some 8mm x 0.1mm shim to shim between 1st and 2nd gear if any free play
- All are MRX5 parts

More shims outside will give more on-throttle steer.

You can also add caster for more mid to exit steering.

Hi erock,

Thanks for the advice .

My problem is off power understeering... It turns wider than another rx8.

( I think because I use 2mm longer screws to make my car stronger, the downsides are stiffer and heavier car, it weights 2450 grams race ready )

ON power steering is fine.

Hi guys,

Whats a cmpatiable set of shocks from another brand of car for the rx8? Mine leak after one meeting and the pivot arms always slip wheb changing piston holes. Does anyone know if mugen or capricorn 1/8 shocks are the same lengths?

Thanks in advance.

I am using mugen mrx4 front shock damper. Fit very nicely in rx8. Don't forget to replace / enlarge the piston hole. 1.5 or 1.3 mm. I also replaced the membrane with tamiya low profile membrane. Low profile membrane don't collapse and produce minimum rebound.
