I'm trying to round up some 8th GT guys from here to come out for this race. Am I okay to run a Picco .28 that I bought for $199? The only other engines I have for these are modded. How long will the mains be? Sounds like a great time and a fun weekend to me.

Spooky.. Pack the car!
If it is stock and not moded motor your fine... we just want to keep it fair and fun. Sweeps are the tire and fun is mandatory.. I used to race at Intermountain RC when I lived in SLC... I ran with Paul Hatfield and Ryan... I raced the SLCF1 series back in the day... good fun... and good people!

The BP 3 port .21 offroad buggy engine looks fine to me.

Any engine is fine as long is it's a .21 3 port buggy motor or a .28 buggy motor, not modded or tuned, and is $200 or less at any major online retailer it meets our rules.

I think the A mains are 30 minutes but Mark can chime in on this.

We really just want to have fun with this class. Fun and low cost has been our goal.

I was looking into the MWCS races and near as I can tell, they run open only. I'll put my Picco in and drag some others with me. GT class is always fun.

Good to hear Max I’m sure you'll have a good time....

If you guys wouldn't mind signing up online at: http://www.timezoneracing.com/event_detail.php?id=151

It will help us start getting a list posted and new names in the computer, not to mention getting a better idea of a head count for the food on Saturday night.

you don't have to pay online you can mail check or at the track, and don't worry about the ROAR Number and date.....

Troy/Mike

can you answer his question....

IMO... a 3 port would be great that retails for $200 or less.. but this is up to Mike Godson and Troy McKune ......Most of us run a 3 port .21 novarossi $149.99

I am pretty sure it is unlimited on the .28 as long as it is not modded and under $200. If you run an engine on the list previously posted you will be fine.

We are new to the class and are relying on the Midwest rules as well as what was allowed at the Ipanema Worlds race.

At our last race we had multiple .28 Ofna Force motors and a few different Novarossi .21 3 Port motors run together. They were very evenly matched and it really came down to setup, pit strategy, and driving.

Troy

+1 Over powered .28 will cause wheel spin and bad fuel economy so really has no advantage.

Mark, all signed up and ready to play. Rick better have not cut the trees out where the hammock goes! And I'll have to keep an eye on him if he tosses the cap on the Crown PR again. Tough morning. This is certainly on my not to miss races of the year, always fun!

Will there be another E8th battle?
