ive always used the mugen seiki efra pipe cant remember the model number if you like i can get this tonight.

i get about 5 and a half minutes on these engines( tz3, tz5 )

ill be selling the 5 port soon to make way for my new .21 engine if anyone is interested.

make sure you have the low end set right, pinch the fuel line after a big rev and the engine should idle up then almost die. not too rich. this is where you save fuel consumption

My 12tz has no issues with making 5 minutes on a tank, and does it under 200F degrees while being run hard. At the Paris race in Vegas in October, I made just over 5 minutes (engine was brand new, just broken in then) on their track at 196 degrees at the end of a 40 minute main. At my home club track (140 x 100), I have made it up to 8 minutes on a tank (with a very technical setup on the track) at as low as 178F degrees. In fact, my engines has only broken the 200F degree mark three times since I first started running it in October 2005. And, it is just as fast, if not faster, than many of my Novarossi and Sirio-based engines. I have mine strapped to the expensive Mugen pipe and my car is ballistic.

Run time is largely dependent on the track layout, surface, clutch setting and etc. Given everything is more or less equal, I find the TZ has as a good a run time compared to a Nova based engine, if not better.

Great motor to start out with for the money just have someone to help you with the break in process that is what I would suggest.

i have had my TZ 3 ports for 4 month now and i am really impressed with the performance this little powerhouse delivers. when deciding which pipe to match , i bite the bullet and bought the OS T1040 matching pipe , pricy you bet but works well for me. Now, i have been reading about skyline VR12 and rdlogics turbo 3, seems like nice pipes. How do they compared to OS t1040 as far as performance, fuel comsumption go ? kinda want to try somethin different but i thought i d ask before i buy.

For bang for buck when it comes to pipes you cant go past the Skyline VR12.....it works equally well on either the TZ or ZAC TZ i run....plenty of torque right across the range with great top end........around the $70 from rcaddict.com.au
Cheers

www.skylinercracing.com you can get the pipe for $60. The OS Pipe should give better power band due to the fact that it has a conical header.
