you sound like a new racer so get a 17.5 stock motor & a decent ESC for brushless ...

Hope this helps

Agreed. Too much motor too soon will lead you to a lot of headaches. (ask me how I know).

Most important things to focus on as a new racer:

1 - Making it around the track without crashing.
2 - Making sure your car is well maintained (no cracked, missing pieces, good diff, shocks full, etc.)
3 - Run your race. There will always be somebody faster. Don't get caught up trying to race the guy that just passed you. You'll only end up wrecking, and taking him out with you.

Practice, practice, practice, and don't be afraid to tune your car. Make 1 small change at a time, until you know what each adjustment will do for you.

Speaking of which, I need to take my own advice and spend a day turning wrenches. New layout = time for a new setup.

Long story short, try a different wing that is not trimmed as much in the back
Speaking of that. I forgot to come look at your wing Friday night

You going to be at W3 Wed?

Default B4 and B4.1 transmission.

Few more questions. Whats the changes in the B4 and the B4.1 transmission? I believe the guy that I purchased it from updated it with the SC10 ball diff kit. Do I need to update the case to 9826? I heard something about a different metric bearing too? Do i also need the 9818 rear plate? I would like to know the number of the yellow diff gear, I wouldnt mind having a spare. Finally whats the difference in the slipper hubs in the B4.1 FT compared to the slipper hubs in the B4? I cant see the difference. Thanks and I apologize for all the questions, just trying to get a handle on things. G

9826 is the B4.1/SC10 gear case. The b4 has a 9574 gear case. the Large bearing that goes to the out drives is different from the two. If he upgraded to a SC10 gear case. he used Large bearing 9832, 10x16mm... the old bearing was a #3976, 3/8"x5/8"

So you will just need to use the gear diff parts from a B4.1 or SC10
or here
#9826 = case
#3977 = small bearing
#9832 = large bearing
#7664 Ball diff gear
#6581 = Ball's for diff
#9582 = diff outdrives.

The yellow diff gear is # 7664 same as the SC10 FT, which is the gear for a ball diff

The b4.1 slipper is a V2 style which is a upgrade from the b4 non-v2 style. different slipper hubs and spring. has more bite. I guess you could say. Well worth the upgrade.

You really should read through some of this thread for the answer you are looking for.

I don't think I am overstating the point when I say that it has been the major topic of conversation for the last 3 months!

Short answer: It works! the vast majority of us are using the Associated +8, a custom hack job or the aluminum RCRD chassis.

I don't believe so...

JConcepts will be releasing them "soon" though. Some of us have been using some designed for the SC10 or other models and shimming them, drilling out the drive shaft holes etc to fit.
