I haven't raced my 6 yet but when I ran the bd(not bd5) it would tweak really easy was the only down fall. I'm not sure about parts either or if u can get them in the US.

They are really not that similar, I kind of thought the suspensions were similar (arm design) but not really even. Arm mounts, steering rack, geometrys, all a little different.

I've owned both the BD5 (set up as WXI) and the TC6 at the same time. The 2 cars are very, very different.
The TC6 is easily as capable on carpet as the BD5 and the AE car has a wider setup sweet spot IMO.
No denying the Yokomo though, beautiful, quality ride for sure.

I'm a regular club TC6 driver but the car seems not to be competitive on the big events ...
Is the TC6 just a club racers car? Why are the team drivers not competitive on the ETS? Levanen is not capable to get to the A final anymore ... People are talking about wide set-up aria that the car works in and that the Yokomo and Tamiya have a narrow sweet spot in the set up. But nevertheless if you read some interweaves team drivers can't get their set-ups right and struggle with the settings!?
Results from the last ETS race, no TC6 near the top ten. Practical every brand has at least one car in there

Obviously AE has a history of winning and when we go to a race winning is our objective. But it is more important to put a good product in the hands of the people that are spending their hard earned money. If the TC6 is a club racer's car, that is not a bad thing.
However I do believe that the TC6 is a competitive car on an international level. A driver like Juho Levanen suffers because he is the only TC6 driver competing the larger European events. There is no setup help and nobody to bounce ideas off of. I believe he qualified 12th which is a feat in itself considering he is a one-man operation.
AE has four pro drivers racing the TC6: Rick Hohwart, Juho Levanen, Keven Hebert, and Olly Jefferies. It is rare that more than two of these drivers race at the same event and in many case it is only one. But in the international races like Reedy TC Race of Champions and IIC the TC6 places well.
Juho won an ETS round last season, Jefferies won some BRCA rounds and almost won the championship, and the TC6 does well in the U.S. But the team is small and spread out which does not help. AE could sponsor more drivers and get more guys in the mains but the ultimate goal is to put a good car in the hands of the customers and I feel we have succeeded at this.

I think Rick has got it just right - the TC6, here in the UK is very popular and this is down to Olly Jefferies, Alan Bickerstaff and the team's performance at the BRCA events. This has had a big impact at club level.
If you look at the ETS the likes of Ronald Völker had his own pit man flown in to help him out. Even Marc Rheinard said that was a big advantage and he would be looking for Tamiya to provide a pit man for him for the next event.
In the US the TC6 is also doing well in the hands of Rick and Keven.
As Rick said the Pro team for Associated is small but in the current climate (as in financial) Associated are selling cars in the US and UK - I don't know how many Yokomo's there are in the US but it is not even for sale in the UK. I can only assume that they are selling big in China, Japan etc. for them to be able to put so much into the ETS.
The TC6 is doing well at our club and is winning most weeks and that is good enough for me.

I would love to see AE supporting some drivers in Europe.
Last year at the nationals in Belgium there was 1 person driving a AE TC5 or TC6 of 60 drivers.
By his efforts next year there will be 8 people driving a tc6.
I bought my son a TC6 to compeed at the nationals because of that person.
He is always willing to lend parts, share setups and give advice.
I'd love to see people like that get some sort of support from AE.

Same with our local track. I would say 50% of the drivers use the TC6.

Me too! Thunder Tiger in Germany sponsored some guys in the past. What they are doing now is not clear. The list is not up to date. Some guys changed the company two years ago and are still on the TT website
On the races for the LRP-HPI-Challenge in southern Germany (Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria) I am always the only TC6 driver as well...
