as i am taking my truck apart to clean and do some maintenence. my RPM arms came in yesterday! so i take the rear arms off and they are just as tweaked as the fronts were???? pretty bad, the way i see it it directly effects antisquat and we all know what a difference that can make. I have a 4 pole castle motor i am going to play with too, wasnt too happy with my current setup on a bigger track, on the video track was perfect but i found myself wanting more low end on the bigger track yesterday so we will see. it is the 1406 so it may get too hot right off the bat but im going to see for myself. Alot of things have changed on the truck since the beginning so it may actually work out now. i mean the new Tekin is a 4 pole 540 sensored and this one is a 4 pole nonsensored 540......

Well got my truck on the track finally and it was horrible. Truck was very loose and seemed way to aggressive. It's all stock any suggestions? I did run cityblocks instead of the stock tires

you have two ways of attacking it, either start from the beginning and go with 30k front dif,5 rear 5mm front RC shims. blue sway bars. or go with the "new" style which is is pin the shaft 10/5k dif fluids. 2mm RC shims, RCshox garolite slippers, 2 stage pistons and saddlepacks. the truck is still evolving but at a fast pace! when the FT version comes out its going to be a much better truck out of the box!

Oh god, if I picked a stock truck now I'd be surprised on how terrible it is compared to the modded one LOL.

But is it? Saddles, pinned slipper, shocks, shiny bits... Some yes, some probably not. I just can't see Associated doing all of the changes to the truck that many of us have.

Marcus, Mack, do you see AE adopting your clutch bits or two stage pistons? Either through you or just downright stealing the ideas?

If you haven't thought of it, figure out a way to protect your assets!

Just speculation on my part.

There is no way to protect against it AE is HUGE, i cant afford to fight them and there is not enough sales to warrant it. They dont have a history of stealing ideas. WE are only helping not hurting. If you look at the history of all of the major companies they only improve on the obvious and let the aftermarket take care of the rest. Without our improvements the truck would not be as good as it is and that would put more pressure on AE to fix it. Now a brace, better shocks and little dimensional changes they will change . i am only speaking from my perspective, not sure how Mac feels about it! i got into a battle with GT bikes years ago as i came up with the "ahead" stem system and put it on all of my team's bikes, went to the grand nationals with it and 6 mths later they introduced it on their new bikes and now EVERY bike on the planet has it. i pissed of 10g's and still lost......

i think the new FT truck will have:
FT shocks (hardened and nitride coated shafts)
pinned rear top shaft assembly
upgraded arms
upper brace
V2 slipper spring
sway bars

Anyone tried limiting the shocks front and rear to take away some of the droop that the truck has? Im going to give it a shot, cant hurt it.

A simple patent would get it sorted.

To use it, they'd need to buy the patent from you, and you can impose a price on it.

@omaha_racing:

I was thinking the same thing, but seems I'll go with stiffer rear springs instead.

its not a SIMPLE patent due to the complexities and a GOOD patent ends up being around 7k when its said and done! think INTERNATIONAL, thats where it gets complicated and expensive.

Patent office in the States must be a PITA then.

Last time I went to get some info on patenting an invent (didn't do it because I quit developing the thing), they only wanted a summary of what it was, a schematic, and a small fee (something symbolic)

Default ok i m looking at getting one these sc10 now aince you guy might have the bug figured

anyways after reading though some 250 pages so far i liek these to motor http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...9&I=LXAETU&P=K this one i belive would be the best one for power and im hopping low heat but have to work it in the car or dremmel a little from what i read http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXBLCE&P=SM or i got this one that will drop right in any one try them both im kinda looking to do the 3 pay so i can get some tires and a sway bar set fast also so it got to be one off these motor here. I have one more question what is better seneorless or senored one that would be a big help since i am a nitro guy and looking to get an electric. i will be running on a large out door track and we have some huge sucide jumps this will need to clear and the stock 17.5 turn motor just do cut it at my track they ant fast enough for the jumps lol so im assuming this is the right direction to be going with is the 1415 motor the 2400kv and i hopping that kv number is good since no one explained what kv is best yet or if it should be high or low

Get the 3800.

With that motor you're gonna go at full throttle almost the whole time, and that translates onto more heat output.

That motor's intended for 4S.

And it's not like somebody hasn't invented a multiple disc clutch already.

All I know is that I'm ready to get my truck back together, get the last pieces together and give her a whirl on the track, Marcus has given me quite a few tips and is helping me with the pins on my shaft, I'm even more eager to try out this rx8 and pro4 4600kv motor.

BTW Marcus, I have a little video about 1 minute of your run yesterday, was going to see if you minded if I posted it up on youtube.
