I would really like to know if RC and RM was running pinned or not at the Reedy race. We all know all the other stuff they have done.
I can not believe there is no video on the net of the event. Their first big win with the truck and no body was running a camera.

Thinking out loud, if I could go back and test tomorrow (and I can't) I would try taking out 1oz of user added ballast from the bulkhead behind the servo. I think this will allow the truck to cut better getting in the corner since reducing the ballast in the front will increase rear weight % and increase weight transfer. And gear up two teeth.

Yeah. All the mods required to win the crowd of other 4x4's that are not "bolt on" available would bother the 75% of common potential buyer. For sure.

I disagree with the first part, high bite hides the problems.
I disagree with the second part, low bite is where this mod works best.
I agree with the third part, users should test their own stuff and not rely on me or any other random person on the internet. Worth every penny you paid for it!

Im not impressed. I feel some more front traction in the second half of the turn. thats it.
tested with slipper locked, a bit loose, fulltime 4x4 and the cliker.
when I compare to my jammin. the jammin is still better with acceleration than this truck.
the rear gearbox is getting louder, and the gears will not hold this for long I think.
guys that say "its a whole new truck" hmmmm I doubt it..

Then you're completely missing the point. He said he thought the rod ends were too small, so I asked about a 1/8 shock end, which would of course require a bigger rod. The 4-40 rod he used is going to add only a negligible amount of weight, and no stiffness. Flex a 20" piece of the CF tube he used and the same length of 4-40 threaded rod and you'll see why. It was obvious that he used the rod just to be able to thread the shock ends on and avoid bonding them. Pretty sure he said so in his post.

For the peeps who have theirs pinned and notice noise in the rear gear box, what exactly is the noise comming from, the diff, or the idler gear? If it is the idler, hot racing makes a hard annodized idler and gear diff. I have the gear diff, but have yet to put some time on te track with them, school uhhhhhhhh.
Oh, also how tight is your slipper setup, i think it would benefit more from a looser slipper than a tighter setup, which is in contrast with the de-couple slipper.
I also think with the truckpinned it is a good aidea to go back to the basics of setting the truck up i.e. normal diff oils, and removing the extra weights added besides those used to balance the truck. and after watching Mantis' truck, I am sold to the idea that pinning it is better than unpinned for a loose or high grip track.

CoyoteSlash Setup
Sorry, Totally forgot about a setup to even look at. blahh. Thanks for taking a look either way!

Put front ballstud on inside hole
Put 1degree of toe out in front
Then try
3-3 toe block
And remove od pulley
Also your belt settings are way too tight. And maybe try 2mm under front stud

No pics if the damage . It pretty much cleaned of a small area of 2 or 3 teeth off the idler gear. The truck would still go but sounded horrible. I was on an indoor track that is very tight and technical . Also the track has pretty good traction. Im running a 550 5.5 tekin so I know im not running as much power as some of the guys on here. In my personal opinion it felt better unpinned where i was running yesterday. Glad i had a good stock of idler gears with me and luckily nothing else in the tranny was damaged.

It's just different now - and its all little stuff I would do to get the car to rotate or pivot or even jump before the pin doesn't work.
The track I ran on today is really an 1/8 scale track. They have an enormous set of triples in the back stretch that unpinned I bet I crashed over 1/3 of the time. The truck really rewards smoothly rolling up on the power by having a better in air attitude where before you had to NAIL IT right out of the corner to jump the darn thing and it would carry the front bumper at a 45 degree angle. I blamed the body, now I can jump anything with minimal drama.
Seems to me the truck can be driven more aggressively with the pin, but it still rewards a driver with a smoother style.

one more question: why do we need the center brace again?
