I have nothing but compliments for this company. The quality of their stuff is top notch, and if anything seems to be out of place they are more than happy to set it straight or take care of you in a timely manner, from the time my speed control went into the mail to the time I got it back was one week, I really can't commend these guys enough of their awesome job, and I really can't wait to knock the smiles off the tekin guys at my track with that new vx4 system!
Huge shout to to saladfork for his help in getting me advice and set up with my system in my 22

Salad,
I have gone thru 3 vtx10r's since may when I got mine.
It has only ran in a 4x4 sc truck. I talked with Willie and he has said that it keeps failing due to the small footprint. He has offered the fan kit when it is available and haven't hears from him. I know he is out until the 11 th. Do you know if these are available yet?
I ran it with the viper 550 4.5 xl motor
Truck is the hyper 10sc

hey i have a savage xs, and im sure some have heard how crappy the castle esc is in them, i want to replace my motor and esc with a viper setup but im new to brushless and trying to learn. how well do these 2 pole 10th scale motors preform? i like the viper stuff and really want to try a setup. looking for something that will preform as good if not better than the stock 4 pole 4000kv motor and esc combo, does a higher kv rating mean it will be faster with less torque or slower with more torque? what turn motor should i get? also when buying an esc and motor from viper do i need to get anything additional and what size is the shaft for the pinion on these viper motors? i think the stock pinion excepts a 3.2mm shaft? thanks guys looking forward to yalls responses

I'm looking for some setup advice for the Viper 13.5 in a 2wd short course truck. I'm running a Kyosho SC-R with a Tekin RS ESC. Since the motor is 2400kv it looks like I need to gear it around 24-26/75 and then start adding boost. Where should I start the can timing? How much total boost can I add to the motor?
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris

30* timing on can.
boost settings in tekin
40*
start rpm 4xxx
end rpm 21,xxx
no turbo
You can boost our motors pretty good. just check temps and gear up/down according to speed. i run my 13.5 at 170 all day it loves it!

With the Savage XS and the dual battery configuration which can run up to 4S. We don't have a system rated to 4S, even in the smaller Savage XS. The Copperhead system coming out in November is 2-3S only but will have no problem pushing the little Savage around. If you plan on just running 2S the VX4 or VX4R's will have no problems. The VX4 is the 3.17mm shaft size and comes in 3900kv and 5200kv, the VX4R's are the 5mm option and are longer than the VX4's at 62mm length.
I would not suggest using the 2 pole motors and VTX10 with this setup, while it's not been tested in the Savage XS, it would be fair to say you will want a little more flexibility for bashing.
If you have any questions feel free to give me a call 425-985-0655, my name is Trey.
Thanks!
