Yes but the track will be closed for november for a complete re-design and then prepared ready for the event so it will look something like this but alot more jumps and tech sections, layout has been confirmed but no sneak peeks till its built, fresh track for every one, no pre event or club days or practice for that matter

RACE REPORT FROM THE 2011 Tumbleweed Event on 9/11

I showed up on 9/09 (Friday) for open practice for one reason only, to warm up my Clocked O.S. 25xz and see where I was at in terms of fuel milage...I got 14:48! On Saturday 9/10 I get to the track a little bit later than I wanted to for race day #1.. I was up at 4am that morning preparing food to sell at the track, so by the time I even got to the track I was completely exhausted, but ready to race....By the time I set up the hot dog stand, made the coffee, and displayed the burritos, it was already time for my first qualifier!

Unlike everyone else there I didn't get to even run any practice laps before racing! My practice was my first qualifier, in which I came in 6th.. 2nd qualifier I came in 5th. At this point the A-Main is already set for the next day and I need to place in the top 2 of the B-Main to get bumped into the A-Main.. 9/11, Sunday and final race day, I am starting in 5th in the B-Main.. I decided not to be a food vendor on Sunday because it was just to tiring to be running the food sales and trying to race too..So, I got my sleep on Saturday night, got to the track early Sunday morning, and started my day out right!

Okay, 5th position is where I sit in the B-Main, I have to place in the top 2 to bump up into the A-Main...GO! Its "F"en on buddy I start tearing through the B-Main like a violent storm working my way up to the 2nd place position within a half a lap! Then First! It is me and Frank Royal, who is sponcered by Argus, and we're battling it out, and its brutal! Then we come to the final turn right before the 150ft straight away, we even out with each other at the start off the straight away, hit the small double and then I leave his Argus in the dust with my Clocked O.S. 25 From there on out I maintain 1st place with Frank occassionally challenging me for my position but never taking over.. Him and I manage to gain a 1.5 lap lead on everyone else with me finishing in 1st place...

I am now bumped up into the A-Main and will be sharing the track with the likes of Casey Peck and Lars Johnson (DAMN THOSE GUYS ARE FAST!).. The A-Main is 30 mins long and my Clocked O.S. 25 is running like a champ, sipping on S&W fuel! The A-Main starts, and is the final race of the day on the 1/8 scale track..At this point the track is EXTREMELY NARLY! Rutted up, chewed up, holes everywhere.. I do my very best, but only manage to seize 7th place! But, not to bad being that this is only my 5th race ever! I feel honored to have been able to be on the same track at the same time as a kick butt driver like Casey Peck! Did I mention how friggen fast that guy is

A side note on my fuel milage.... On practice day I ran a 14:48 on one tank.. Qualifiers were only 7mins so no problem! B-Main was 15mins so I decided to pit at 10mins, why chance it? My pit guy said that when he filled me up at 10mins that I was just under a half a tank..Cool! A-Main was 30mins, so I continued to pit at 10mins..My pit guy said at 10mins in the A-main that I was on fumes.. Very weird I guess I must have been running twice as hard for the A-Main!
Anyways, here is the Truggy A-Main action from start to finish! My Truggy is the Losi 8T 2.0, sky blue in color with orange flames in front, white wing, white wheels..Enjoy!

Actually I just watched the video and I was getting over 11mins per tank...My last fill up was at 20:40 and I ran out of fuel moments after the race ended at31:40...So the last tank went 11mins...

Today I tested the clockwork racing engines modified werks B5 pro fitted with a novarossi carby using a 8mm venturi, 0.4mm idle gap and the engine was temping at 210f, I had a complete tank run at the pace shown on this video and the tank ran empty at 12.26 ...... really liking the nova carby which has given me a wider tuning window in my book and lots of venuri options too.

Neal, do you clock Used motors? Does that work well?

I have a used Dynamite .21 xpe engine coming as a backup for my buggy, and thought I might send it to you depending how it does.

Got the Clocked +4 on the track last night for the first time. Track was dry and loose since it was a practice night. I should have known better than to clutch it aggressively but I am at the point that I'm just trying to get fuel in it to get it ready for a race tune. Needles were set way too rich from Neals Break in bench and it would even stay running without a few hours leaner on both needles. After a good heat soaking and some needle tweaking she fired right up and held a steady idle. The first few laps were slow and smooth just to get the chassis heat soaked and listen how it sounded on the track. After more tuning it was time to see some action. It had power galore and with a light flywheel and heavy springs it was breaking free all night on a loose track but we know that's an easy fix. The engine had major response throughout the entire band with a ballistic top end. Run times were 9 minutes till dry with a rich tune, high idle, metal pinch, and tires breaking free all over the track. I'm scared to see what this engine will be like once it's fully broken in and I clutch it right and have racing tires on it. After almost 2 quarts on the track last night I can tell that Neal steered me in the right direction when he talked me into this engine. It's a beast with Gobs of power everywhere and it's going to get phenomenal run time. I'm going to put more fuel through it at a break in pace and change my clutch settings and I will be racing it within a couple weeks. To be continued........

Default Glow plug reccomendation

Neal what plug would you recommend for the Clocked B5 pro running in 100* F ambient temp with low humidity here in San Antonio on 30% OD speed blend:

Werks 5 or 6?

Thanks!

Hi, I have been looking at getting either a
CRE WERKS B5 PRO or a CRE WERKS B6 PRO
It is for the MBX6 buggy.

Not sure which is the best motor of the two for a buggy and also the best pipe to get for run time.

Any information is greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

We include one of our #5 plugs with all of the B6, B5-Pro and B6-Pro's that go out of the door here. We include the hotter #5 because a hotter plug is easier for break in and initial running of the engine when it is rich etc.

Do you think you could get some Werks#7 turbo glowplugs out to
Amain Hobbies ? Neal keeps telling me that the Werks plugs are
great. But I need the colder heat range plugs to get the full performance
out of the latest engines that Neal has modded for me.

Honestly I do not see us doing anything colder than a number 6 plug. For off road there is generally no need for anything colder than this. You might want to take a look at some of the on-road plugs out there but keep in mind that the plug body construction is usually different between on-road and off-road plugs so you will not be comparing apples to apples.
