neil, what clutch set up were you running on the serpent/bonitto ?

We put a M2C in it today but had a busy day at the track and couldn't test it today.

Maximo, I have a jammin jpx.21 and was wondering what the stock head shim stack is and is it safe to pull any for better performance ??

on th stock engine is can be hit or miss..... some people have pulled the thin shim and the engine woks excelent, others pulled the shim and the engine acted up...best bet is trial and error....pull the shim, richen the tune and then try tuning the engine in and see if it cooperates....Just be sure to richen it up first....You wont hurt the engine by raising compression if the engine is nice and rich.....If the engine doesn't behave when you go to tune in the needles then add the shim back in....

Ran the O.S. 21xz-b and 25xz this weekwnd for its first race with good results. In truggy I qualified 2nd but ended up 4th due to driver error. The .25
still hasen't dropprd its nuts yet but ran flawlessly all day gettin ~8.5min. till M/T on a rich tune...expecting some great things from it when it does. As for buggy, I qualified 3rd and finished 1st. The .21 dropped in the 2nd qual. so I leaned it out and let her eat. The buggy main was only 15min so I didn't get to play with runtime and pitted at 7.5min. After the race I checked the tank and had plenty of fuel left. I believe after tweaking the needles a bit that 10min. are easily obtainable. So far, I'm verry impressed with these two engines and hopefully continue to have a long relationship with CRE!!!

What kind of run times are guys seeing out of the Clocked JPX .21?

between 9-11 minutes in truggy...depends on track,pipe,clutch,tune and driving style....

Hey Neil, you mentioned the Werks 2058 is running pretty good on the OS 25...how bout runtimes vs. the 086. Also which pipe is smoother since the .25 already has a huge amount of grunt.

the 2058 is amazing on both he 21 and 25.... I ran a 9886 this weekend on the 25 and it wasn't as nice as the 2058, and seems tamer then the OFNA 086...the 2058, 8 mm venturi, M2C 4 show 2 X .9, 2 x .95 on hard shoes, geared up 1 tooth on CB was a wicked combo on the 25....about 10 mins runtime, and a linear tractable powerband across the entire RPM range....... On the XZB 21 the 2058 is downright angry...accelerates like a missile out of the corners without blowing the tires to shreds.

Well After a Long 4 day weekend of racing its good to be on Home turf again. I was racing in Foley MN as part of the MN Nitro Series. The Track was Amazing as usual as Sean the owner just plain Knows how to do it.


Clocked B6 in buggy was A Missile come Main time when the track went Blue groove on us, Traction was Through the roof and the Tires showed it after the 30 min A-mains.

Qualified Straight into the A's with no problem but the Field was packed with Fast guys who are normally all right up there at the top of the class, So qualifying in 6'th in truggy and 7th in buggy was great, The real treat was qualifying 2nd in the E buggy class in which I ended up Winning

Buggy main was Great, Finished mid pack (7th i think) after running in the Top spots for the better part of half of the race. First lap I came out 2nd behind Tony S and was Slowly picked off by the Top Tier guys as they made there way though the field after the First lap Mayhem. I made a somewhat poor tire decision and was forced to deal with balding tires near the 20-22 mark before my last fuel stop. All in all it was a great race and Really enjoyed swapping position's with Steve Nelson for the last 15-20 of Both Buggy and truggy mains.


Truggy was another awesome battle between myself and Steve N and on the last lap he got by me and I was trying some heroics that didn't pay off and was confident in Finishing 5th, Well Last Lap, Tone had gone off, Coming off the back side mountain i hugged the pipe a little too much and caught the flywheel on a spike or something as the Motor Stopped and I was Forced to give up my 5th for 6th to Mr Bohlman who was the last driver to be on "our lap".

All in All it was an Awesome weekend and I cant Thank you Neal And John enough for everything you do for me. I would also Like to thank All my other sponsors for making My Racing possible.

CONGRATULATIONS Nick! Great job! Sounds like it was a blast!

I was pretty happy with the results of our last 2 points races with the Clocked B5 Pro in the Serpent ( won them both )! I even shocked myself when I seen the numbers. That BuKu Carbon Komposite clutch is something special I experimented with it at the last race with favourable results indeed. It's seen a hard life since I installed it, so I was quite surprised when I seen how much meat was left on the shoes, and it's nice never worrying about slag in the CB anymore. It's such a smooth engagement, yet grabs hard enough to rip wheelies after landing the big jumps, pretty impressive for a 3 shoe.

The Nitro Classes in MN are on a whole different level, As much as I Wish i could come home with those kind of Results it'll be a little while before I can think of Dethroning Mr Welch. I try However.
