Hey guys, i just wanted to know what u guys are using as a throttle spring in the even that the receiver battery dies or the throttle linkage comes disconnected? Is a spring strong enough for the throttle if it's still hooked to a servo or do u guys use something else? thanks!

small rubber band. loop it from the HSN over the carb and hook it on the ball where your throttle linkage hooks up.

Get a set of small hairbands. They are a bit fuel proof and do work perfectly.

Be sure you have a smooth servo. Some standard plastic gear servo's are hard to turn by hand so a simple spring or rubber band will not work either.

A digital servo is a lot smoother and easier to rotate without power than it is with a standard servo. Standard servos take a lot more rubber-bands/springs to overcome its resistance.
You can get decent digital servos for a very low price (depending what you look at) online from hobbyking.

If the throttle linkage comes off no amount of springs or bands connected to the servo will stop it

thats sweet where do you gets these at , and do they put alot of tention on the linkage as far as the return part goes i really dont want to burn up servo's

The best I have found is the rolled lip of balloons http://www.partycity.com/product/bla...&navSet=110367 cut the part you blow into and use that. It's resistant to the chemicals and doesn't break like rubber bands etc. The key is having a servo in the throttle that can be returned back to center. Example airtronics servos I have used don't easily return to center. Make sure you bench test this.

These springs are also mounted standard on some kyosho and HPI cars. With a small search you can find the partnumbers.

Yep. Just the other day I was at a local hobby shop looking for a throttle linkage. The only thing they had that was long enough for my needs was some sort of HPI truck linkage kit. In the pack was a spring that looked just like that. Now I know what it is for.
