No timing was used on the motor or speed control It felt awesome speed wise for the 4 minutes up until it cooked.

I'm just starting to grind the holes for

installing duel fans for cooling the motor ...

It will look very kool when done ....

FINALLY! I broke something...

Today during my second heat while airing a huge double, I hit a bump/rut right before takeoff and it threw my truck sideways in the air tumbling. On the landing it somehow broke the rear shock tower. It was towards the end and I still won that heat, albeit with my rear right lowriding.

Couple of zip ties and it held together well enough for me to place first in the main.

Longer shaft required for the over tray mount method, and there are no Ti rods I know of long enough to span ...

Not all that big of a challenge to drill the hole for the nose plate, You do have to grind the ridge under the plate to mount a lock nut.

also grounded down a little the back stud mount on the rear trans brace.....
I wonder if a crawler link would work? I think they get up and ove 112mm in length. But how does this effect the handling?

When accelerating the belt pulls or flex's the nose up .

This mess's with the belt tension & forward bite of the truck...

Same happens when decelerating hard into the turns & landing off jumps.

flex your Sc 4x4 and you will notice the belt tunnel bending & bowing..

The brace fix's that ...

All kinds of kool color Ti Rods for Traxxas ride that are long enough.

I went with the steel cus it was the least expensive ...

Hey guys,

Just ran the truck last night for the first time. High bite, indoor track. Only issue I need to work out is the weight ratio left to right. What are you guys doing to make the left side weigh as much as te right? Thanks.

most are using square lead weights from the hobby shop, small and easy to apply with 2x sided tape

hey guys i asked this in the rx8 thread but haven't heard anything back so i guess ill ask it here since it happened in my sc10. Check out this pic...

What could cause this kind of meltdown to happen to my battery?

Im running the 3800kv cc motor, RX8

the batteries are hobby people 35c lipos

Could this be from an insufficient c rated battery? Connectors? I just put the rx8 in and never saw anything like this from my MMP. It has to either be the new bullet connectors or the esc is drawing too much power im guessing.

I did it for the main so I only got to run it once. But it was like someone turned the light on finally . Now I need to back track some of my changes I made to the front get the low speed steering back.

Most likely it's the bullet connectors. If you use the ones that are included with the hobby people battery, that is probably the cause.

My bro is running Promatch 5000 50c batts and the same thing happened to 2 of his. The only thing we can think of is the arc created when you plug the bullets in. I cant see that generating any heat though. My IP 5800 60c batts have been fine. We are both running a TC Spec w/SC4X 4.5t.

35c is kinda low. it will get the job done, but 40c is about the best there for the money. the difference in higher than 40c in sct is not very noticable.

it all depends on what the capacity of the battery is. If he's running 35c 6000s then he should be money, if he's running 35c 2600s, that would explain everything.

However his problem was probably a poorly soldered female bullet on that particular pack.

I am using the protek male bullet connectors and the batteries are 5000mah. I did notice that the connectors were not very snug when i plugged them into the battery and the negative was more loose than the positive. Crazy how much heat that little connector can generate. I will try to spread the prongs a bit and see if that solves the problem. If not i guess ill have to stop using cheap batts or maybe try some current limiting.

The problem with the battery is more than likely the connector. If you using the solid style that has the two cross cuts then you need to spread them slightly until it fits real snug in the battery. Reedy has even stated in the safety warning that comes with their batteries that the lead with the barrel connectors (they include with the battery) are only for charging.....they are the style that has the barrel shaped spring section. The spring style will not carry enough juice without getting too hot.
