Lance, nice job you did on the modded argus. I raced with Kris Edwards last night and with a good tune that little engine just sounded mean pulling down the straight. It was running on the warm side but smoke and performance always win in my book. Just wanted to drop in an attaboy

The argus loves to run warm. 260 is perfect for them. Also Lance my buddy Felix he posts in here here and there. His orion discovery pinched engine ran so great Friday. Not 1 flame out all day and ran so nice. Idled for days, would of thought the thing was new. Once again great job!

And if it's tuned correctly it will die as soon as you stab the trigger.

Thank you for the feeedback The Argus like to run hot 240-270 after a full race pace tank is normal and the engines last a long time at this temp so it does not hurt them at all. lIke you said tune by smoke and perfromance. And those things do scream hard down the straight dont they Thats where the modified version really stands out is on the midrange and top end.

Thanks again,
Lance

As far as the tune goes, I think he did just mean that it is just a solid idling engine. A lot of the time engine idle better after we resize them becasue there is less blowby down low at the port windows. Which some engines even when new dont have the greatest fit down low.

Im sure all these guys know how to tune. BUt generally yes, an engine should slowly "load up" after idling for a bit of time. If it does just sit there and idle for a very long period of time and not load up at all then it would indicate the LSN is on the lean side of the window.

Thanks guys for the feedback!
