Eli has no problem answering your questions, and enjoys helping ya. Eli also learns by answering your questions. Eli does not have a set-up sheet written as he is still trying different things but its close. Third person vert very funny

No special mods are required IMO except the tires that work best at your track. I just did my basic setup on it, mostly to the book and it's rediculous out there! Nothing has broke yet and I've put it to the test!

You should drive the Losi and then decide.
Since I got the sc10 I havnt felt like driving the losi. Lol! Before that I loved the losi, I put over $400 in mods on it, spared no expense.

Everyone is different but I can tell you all the SC truck have their issues when put to the test.

People keep having belt getting pinched between the front pulley problems, then you roll the truck backwards to un bind it. Happen to me twice in 15 batteries after lawn darting into the face of a quad over shooting a triple. I'm running both 19t belt pulleys so my belt is looser I think.

Hope this helps.
I have tried the losi right after i drove the sc10 and i did notice a big difference. You can really tell how much heavier the losi is compared to the sc10. The losi at the tim didnt have any on power steering compared to the sc10 but is a bit more stable because its so heavy. The racer i barrowed it from said the servo was dieing so i dont think i got a good test out of it. So i still favor the sc10 right now. I havent tried the durango yet either. Eitherway it will be a while before i can buy any truck. Right now im doing verying well with my 2wd sc10 coming in the top 3 everyweek so i think i gonna race that till next outdoor season. Thanks for all the replys and help

Slipping slipping slipping... Even with the HT pads. They get glazed after a few packs. Can't tighten the slipper spring nut fully, the top shaft starts to bend... How hard can it be to manufacture a spring that compresses evenly? Why can't AE come with a solution to this? They must have seen this slipping problem during the test phase...

I guess the only solution is to order the clutch basket. MTK, you're gonna get rich

I hope I won't regret this but I am going to run without the clutch basket first

I havent had one problem with my stock slipper pads. I dont see why all are having so many problems. I have been to 3 different tracks with high traction and large jumps....no issue at all.

It's not so much the lack of spring, as it's a lack of surface area. They tried to address this with the HT pads, but it still wasn't enough. On a high bite track, you can just crank it down and run. But on a loose track, where you need the slipper to work, you need the extra surface area. The SC10 4x4 is heavier than the SC10, and then they steal half of the surface area to drive the front, when the rear requires all of it to accelerate with authority.

I had a question to all the MTK clutch basket users out there. What slipper pad combo are you guys using? I am running on high bite clay tracks and wasn't sure about using a HT pad on the front and one HT and one Reg pad for the rear (maybe even all 3 HT) . Just looking for a decent starting point for running on high bite clay.

Thanks,

Ran mine for real last night for the first time (radio check/field trip to the skatepark doesn't count) at a track I've never seen before. Running saddle packs, Novak 4.5 550, Havok, and Caveliari setup.

I won the second qualifier when the fast guy broke, and led 2 1/2 minutes or so of the main before I lost half a lap when I crashed (into a backmarker who was trying to pull over and let me go), wound up finishing second. The guy who won told me I had the best Associated truck he'd seen at the track so far. A couple of other guys I didn't know randomly walked up and told me the same thing. During the main, I could totally make time on anybody but I have run on dirt exactly once in the past 16 years, and to say I was a little rusty would be an understatement. All in all, a successful evening.

First, tire selection is super important on this truck. The guys running Losi product could run just about anything and it wasn't that different. The difference between subcultures and double dees in the same compound was staggering. Before I got the tires right, I wished I had less motor.

I started with a 12t, and switched to a 13t before I changed tires, trying to take some of the punch away. Worked opposite. I could jump everything before, now I could REALLY jump everything.

At the end of the 10 minute main, I could still jump everything thanks to the clutch basket.

I think the stock rear springs are okay, but IMO the stock fronts are too soft. Moving the upper shock mount to the outside hole helped, but it wasn't enough. I'd of cut a coil off each spring except that's something you really don't want to do 1) at the track and 2) with the only set of springs you own.

Anyway, this truck must be good, cause the driver sure ain't.
