That really should always be the primary question/consideration Alan...agreed.

For me.....refining the package I have....and learing what I need from the car....is more important than chasing these parts around at the moment.
AE's timing...and half assed way of going forward with this "upgrade" is disheartening.
I honestly feel I should have bought a MBX6 ECO.
Right now...I am going to stick with the girl I brought to the dance! ;-)

Default GRID Mount Question

I've heard about running this mount without the spacer underneath, but it looks to me like my 46t spur might hit the chassis, do I need to re-gear to make it work?

Hey all!

First post in the thread; I received my RC8Eb in the mail today from another member here on rctech.

I'm just starting back up in the R/C world after quite a while, so tell me where do you usually go for spare parts for this bugger?

I know I need a few pinions (mod 1 pinion, yeah?) and I'd like to get a couple other spares for any breakages.

What's a good stock to carry for extra parts? (IE, what's the tendencies for this thing to break the most of?)

I'm new to the 1/8th world having come from an old XXX4 back when they were new, so any tips and advice is greatly appreciated!

Mod 1 5mm - depending what motor you're running between 15t and 21t.
If you don't have a motor.. I'm actually switching mine to another system and have a Tekin RX8 ESC w/1900kv. It's the most common motor run in these buggies. Let me know (with this you can run 17,18,19 tooth pinion and you're good) PS - it's only 2 months old and only has a few packs through it.

Wing & Wing mount
Dogbones
Rear chassis brace (just get the aluminum one. The plastic one will break)
Spare caster bushings

I'd say that's the immediate list. There is a longer one in this thread. Just click "Search" and type "Spare" and you should find it in one of these posts around the 3500 mark (estimate).

PS - remember to sand your diff cups or you're going to have leak problems.
PS2 - Welcome to the money pit!

they recommend using the spacer, mine has the spacer under it... less chance of something getting caught between the chassis and spur gear.

What's the deal with the new worlds aluminum steering posts? Are they just lighter or something? Lighter by how much?

Running the Tekno V4 on my RC8 and am looking for a chassis. I swear I heard about one that fits but can't seem to find info on it; any suggestions?

Default MMM/2200kv Combo Thermal shutdown

I experienced a problem yesterday with my MMM shutting off after a few runs. I am checking the heat of the ESC, Motor, Battery temps after each run and have never been over 150'sh on the motor, and temps for the ESC are in the 102 area.

After turning the ESC on after swapping out to a new battery, I had no throttle and the ESC fan continued to run. Checked the Castle web site and the blinking lights presented a possible thermal shutdown.

My question is now, does it reset itself or whats next ?
