I know this was discussed earlier, but I hate to read through tons of pages to find where it was. I noticed after only 6 actual races that my outdrives coming out of the transmission wobble. Has anyone found what the problem is?

I ran the sc10 4x4 for the first time last night, with the stock weight fluid in the diffs. ( I did have to fill them up though, they where dry! ) And the stock weight in the shocks. The car handled very awesome for the first time driving it and the stock setup on it. I dont see how anyone needs sway bars when the truck handles so well stock! I think driving style's need to change, as it changes between each vehicle. (Not posting this to start anything) just wanted to let everyone know how well the truck ran for the first time.

outdrive wobble, it's simply in the design IMO, not on purpose for sure but the outdrive has an o-ring in it that rides IN the bushing in the diff. Personally I'm not going to try and get rid of the wobble ATM. If I see a huge wear isssue over time on the diff gears then I'll worry about it...
Tolerences can only be so tight when you run an o-ring on a shaft IN a bushing, especially with stuff this small..
I did notice today that my ourdrive bearings were COMPLETLY dry, truck has 12 packs through it and has never seen water or an solvents on the bearings. These had the same "dry" sound sound when I pulled the diff out that you would get when you clean a bearing with motor spray and then spin it dry. Clean, no grit inside and no wear that I could tell but the were dry for sure...just something you guys might want to check..

I have a 'crunching' sound when I accelerate. Kinda like a dog bone spinning around in the cup or something. It's not the pinion/spur. Its really noticeable and I know it aint right but I dont see any obvious problem. Could it be in the diff??

Anyone have the same issue?

Default Slipper

Hey guys, regarding slipper setup, manual say 3.5 mm for good setup.
Is someone tried something else, maybe less tension on the spring.
Actually, I use stock setup but is this slipper work like on a 2WD. My rear slippe a lot so can I go to 2.5 mm maybe? I know that some guys add some problems of overheat. Not me and I have HD pad outer

The 3.5mm is to give you a ballpark figure on setting the slipper, you still have to adjust it according to your equipment.

if the all the diff fluid runs out would it cause the gears to make a grinding noise?

My truck is making a grinding/crunching sound under acceleration.

who can help a brotha out?

If it's slipping a lot, you need a tighter setting. On fresh pads, I like the way the truck launches at 3.75mm (on fresh pads). There's a small double that when I start struggling over it, it's time to scrub or flip the pads.

Sounds like you need to take that diff apart. Grinding anything is not good. The only other thing it could be is a bad gear, either way disassembly is required.

Take the belt off, and then drive it using the rear only for diagnosis. If it gets quiet, the problem is the front trans. If gets louder or doesn't change, it's the rear

Uptravel needs to be limited so the dogbone doesn't bind in the drive cup. That's what those little clips that came in the shock bag are for
