Motor-Open to suggestions. looks like 17-1900 kv is the way to go.

Not sure if I should run it on 3s or 4s.

suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!!
GET READY FOR FUN
I would say either one. I have seen a lot less Castles break down.
If u get Mamba I would get 1800 to 2200, 15t to 19t final pinion (get all sizes)
You can get pack of 3 Novak brand at a decent price.

If you get Tekin 1900 or 2050 with 17t to 22t pinion.
Keep a close eye on motor temps. Keep it below 200. Normal this time of yr is 160 to 190.

4 cell 5000 batteries for sure.

Anyone try these? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVAS1&P=7

My FT (plastic) ones went bad. Would not hold the bearing tight. Only thing I could figure that happened was the plastic gets hot then losses its shape.
Got tired of waiting for Grid to make some.

LOL when it comes to 1/8 scale stuff I'm totally a newb.

I run Castle in my 1/10 scale stuff and happy with it.

It boils down to $$ really since this is my first buggy I don't need best right away. Or do I.

Looking fwd to stepping up into the 1/8 scale stuff.

Last question-who sells cheap or cheaper 4s batteries??

How about the Gens ace 4s 5000 40c? The review say there great about 20 minute run time on a mamba set up which is what I'm getting, I just don't see why to spend 150-250 for a battery. I'm not looking to go pro and I've raced once and practiced like 50 times. I'm more about going out with my buddies.

Love mine! It'll be plenty competitive even when you decide you want to try and win.
