Serpent 811E Buggy Thread
#92
I have has the nitro car for a year now and have only broken a wing. They have a new wing on this car also. The build of the car is super durable. With the shock towers, most of the guys are prepping them like onroad guys do to their chassis. Makes it ten times as tough on the edges and looks goo too

andriusv -> If it's a durable car I don't care much about the price of the parts. I didn't brake a single thing on my converted 808 excepted the stock bearings. I would eventually be interested in a used RC Monster converted S811 right now. One is for sure I need a strong & reliable car.
If any of you has a converted S811 and wants to get the new one, you can send me a pm

At the moment I am not impressed with Serpent nitro version at all. Our one of the fastest 1/8 nitro buggy class guy went to Serpent (sponsorship thing) and do not have good results in two legs. There was some problems with assembly, with diffs, with bearings, some other problems... I hope that it is only bad start and he will recover. Hes is very nice guy. Anyway I have asked my local dealer for the price and will try to get this e-Serpent. As I would like to try something different, something from High End Names to see how it compares to my low priced Caster Fusion EX-1.5R

Your sponsored drive guy must not know how to build a car.
Over a full season of racing on mine so far, it's a tank. Haven't replaced anything outside of normal maintenance (bearings, air filter) and a broken wing or two.

Yeah reallly. I have been driving mine over a year now since the day of release and zero broke parts except for the usual stuff like bearings. Either way it will be a step up from a caster even if it were made out of JQ parts lol.

it seems that you do not read other forums or not have many 1/8 nitro Serpents. Otherwise you would notice some comments with assembly problems and many problems with bearings. But I hope that Serpent did home work and this time made all things right
.And I do not expect some incredible changes from my Caster
. There is no Wonder Car for sure! It is only matter of driver and tires

I've been reading and posting in the Serpent thread since it was started for the 811.
Most of the assembly problems were due to the person trying to build the kit, I had no assembly problems, but unlike many people posting about their assembly problems, I have built many high end kits in my life.
You just sound like you are negative on the car in general. Stick with your Caster, you will be happier that way. You will only buy the Serpent, look for faults then complain about them.
See your type all the time.

There is no "type". Your statements are just so full of judgment.. Do this do that you are this you are that BLABLABLA. We don't need that on a rc forum
He is right about the diff bearings I read the same things, and there should be no reason why it happens with the Serpent more than other buggies. It has the same conception as the 808 which had the same troubles. Some may not have any , other do. I actually did on the 808, never managed to get the thing really fixed

Ok so 808 and S811 have no bearings problem at all. That means Xray and Serpent driver are worse than the others to do the maintenance of their cars? With standard Xray bearings I always had troubles, and they aren't cheap. Of course I might be responsible in some way but why then do I meet so many guys with the same problem?
I loved the 808, awesome car for my driving style but I really regret I had so much troubles with the bearings, I would have keep it with pleasure. Awesome quality, light, nimble & smooth.
