Hey Jay,
A few things to start with would be how are you charging your batteries, and what your lipo cutoff is set to. Also, I would check motor/ESC temp as soon as it stops to make sure it is not going into thermal shutdown. This should not happen at 3 min, but I have seen crazier things happen.

Default Rx8 cutoff

The rx8 has a 6v cutoff for a 2s so I don't know if I can change that I have a thunder dual power ac680 charger my capacity cut off is 5000 mah on charger u can turn that off input power is set low cut off is 10.0 v it's set to v type 3.7v lipo check time is 5 min whatever that means also USB /temp cutoff is 80c waste time is set to chg/dchg to 10 min
Maybe this can help you to help me. I'm lost. Thanks again for your help

So are you charging the lipos to the 4.2v per cell 8.4v total on your 2s lipo?

No thats what the package says but a 2s pack fully charged is really 8.4v...... not sure why they label packs that way but they do.

Trust me charge them to the 4.2 per cell and you will be flying for 25+min easy.

Look at the charging section in this link below

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium...olymer_battery

I personally set my cutoff on the esc at 3.2v per cell and charge to the 4.2v per cell..... If your not going to use the packs for awhile put them in storage mode by charging them to 3.8v per cell

Also are you charging at 2amps? If so you can bump it up to at least 5amps with that pack.

Yeah the 7.4V is just a nominal voltage, a 2s 7.4V pack should be fully charged at 8.4V. I do not have the RX8 but it should have an adjustable cutoff voltage, typically you dont want to run them down to 6V every time as it will shorten the life of the pack.

Jay, you might want to read up on lipo so you understand a little about them -

Once you start with a fully charged one, run time will be much improved.
