To me that sounds like a fairly stable idle so it does not sound like an air leak to me but anything is possible. Are both of your needles still out from flush? Generally if it idles nice after reving the engine up and then drops down to a lower idle the LSN is set too rich which will cause it to load up and die, especially with too cold of a plug. The colder the plug is the more exact you have to be with the tune in general.

Ok try the hotter plug and then tune it some more. If the top speed feels good to you at the current settings then work on leaning the LSN to get the idle just right. As you lean the LSN you will also have to start lowering the idle it's self. when you have the LSN just right you should be able to make a high speed pass and stop right in front of yourself and the idle should drop down to a nice stable idle pretty quickly. If it idles high for a few seconds then drops low your still to rich on the LSN. If it idles good for a second or two then drops super low and just dies you are also too rich on the LSN still.

yep I will try a hotter plug, well ive played around with both of them from factory to leaner to get better results but since it still dies they are back to fac setings..

Quick update!!
Good evening,
well the engine is completely apart now and it looks really well and healthy. A nice layer of oil was coating the engine and everything felt really smooth and nice. Chris, there were only one shim! And aznitronut, the exhaust does not seem to leak anywhere. However, the engine is only sealed with rubber rings here and there so I'm gonna reseal it completely and slime it here and there. So what is yet left to do?! Plugs are coming, sealing is soon done, exhaust is not leaking, internal parts of the engine are good...
Which fuel did you guys find better? RB:s own fuel or OŽDonnell?

I raced it yesterday,it screams on top and needs a little more on bottom.I still got it a little rich on bottom.I going to get some stiffer clutch springs and alum. shoes for the race next sat.and see how that goes.I couldn't run a 6 min. qualifer without pitting for fuel so it's not getting great mileage either, this is on a track that you run wide open most of the time.

There really needs to be 2 head shims. Both the shims are copper shims so it's possible they are stuck together.... check those again. If there is only one you will want to get another shim.
As for fuel I think the main thing is that it's fresh. From what I have heard both are great fuels so as long as it's not old fuel you should be ok. Also there can be fuel thats bad right from the hobby store, you never know how long it sat on their shelf.
Once you get it all back together it's going to just be tuning it to ensure it stays running.
