Associated gear diff in Losi 22?

yea it works good that's what i did to mine. it was way smoother then a ball diff. gave me more steering if your not big on a ball diff's it's the way to go. i think a gear diff easy and cheaper to maintain then ball diff's.

I just ordered mine off ebay for $20 shipped. Will give it a try. I only race once or twice a year. Drive on tracks weekly, just don't get a chance to race.

That's exactly the reference you need
I have one in my 22 since 10 packs, and I love it with 3000 silicon oil in (just be sure to put some lithium grease on the o-ring and paper to seal it
You just need about 0,7 or 0,8mm shim each side of the diff.
My favorite track is an astro one, that was very hard to my ball diff. I am more than happy with the gear diff !

I run with my gear diff on our high traction surface when it is dry, but after a rainy afternoo, I can tell you that it was a very low traction surface
The car was really usable andhealthy with the diff gear. YOu should have a try, the Asso diff is around 20$... you may use 1000 or 2000 oil on medium traction surface.

Thought the same thing when I installed mine, but that's because the ae diff is tight on the bearings and I didn't feel the slop. When I pushed the diff side to side it moved quite a bit. Had to use some shims to tighten it up. Also gear mesh was a little tight but broke in after a pack and is nice and smooth.

I will be trying this on an outdoor track, little bit slick. Any thoughts on diff fluid? I was thinking of just starting with 3K, like they are for the carpet. I don't race, just thinking that this might be a little less maintenance than the ball diff.
