Yeah for a few weeks I was pretty much living at the track due to work being so slow lol.

I have thought about when it was time to replace the chassis and I pretty much told my self that if I ever notice that its bent way out of shape causing handling / parts fitment and or drivetrain issues I would replace it. If it never gets that out of shape I will just replace it once the screws that hold the front and rear bulkheads on no longer fit correctly. As of right now I dont see a huge need to replace it just yet.



The bottom of my chassis is pretty much no longer black as you can tell. I had quite the learning curve after being out of the hobby for over ten years.



Did you get the new lower arms too? I am really interested in hearing how it all works out for you.

Its time to change when the screw heads start wearing down.

Invest 4 bucks on the chassis skid plates and it will save your chassis from getting worn down. It will also protect the A and D plates from wearing down. I picked some up for my carbon chassis and they work great.

I am using the DE skids and they do ok for a little bit then they start the wear down fast. I know 7$ bucks is a cheap investment but it would be better to have some aluminum pads. I think I will make some from scrap I have left over.

I made some Alu. and didnt like them due them grabbing the surface. The plastic will slid "skid" and not grab.

Thinking about one of these, what's a good motor/esc combo to get? Hope to get back into racing, but for now it'll be putzing around a track for fun to see if I can get some sk1llz back..

Can these 1/8 motors be used in a 1/10 car (eg rc10b44.1) as well?

tekin rx8 with 1900kv motor, no you cannot use the motor in a 1/10 scale car, but you could use the rx8 esc, although it's a bit large.

lol, i know what you mean. rc is my replacement hobby, i use to build and race vw's. so this seems cheap to me.

you can get more inexpensive electronics, save a hundred bucks or so.

i did, and the motor burned up in a day. should have gotten the tekin to start with. doh!

the rc8be is a complete joy though. excellent car and support.

The new arms from AE are still pretty much on backorder... I've heard a few sets have gotten out to the public, but not many.

So for now I've got a new set of the old arms I'm just going to modify. I also bought the carbon front arm braces from SNR, so everything should work out OK using the old arms.

Heck... The first batch of "new" arms from AE are just modified old arms till they use up the stock.

As far as skid plates go.... I'll just sacrifice the chassis like it was intended.

Everytime I've tried those DE Skids they cause the car to do retarded stuff off the jumps. Nose plowing in because of the front bumpskid, or the tail kicking up because of the rear one hooking the dirt.

A chassis should last a full season at least anyway... Not a big deal to replace it once a year.

did you get the suspension upgrade kit also?

I'm curious to know, with these upgrades, how much better it could perform.
