but wat is the difference between the discovery and the tebo edition ..??
will the tebo edition have more power than the regular crf alpha 5 port or smthng up down ??
thank u
The Tebo or King editions will be way smoother then the Discovery. They will also come with ceramic bearings (helps with smoothness), a filled crankshaft, adds to fuel mileage, and the crank will be fluted to aid in air/fuel delivery to the combustion chamber (more power).. That is comparing CRF/WCE to Discovery.

I can't say what the difference is between the CRF and Tebo/King engine is.. Pitpop will be more inclined to answer that question..

I'm new to the forums so please go easy on me. I have a Team Orion Combo CRF Alpha Engine ABI (ABC/7 Ports/Ceramic) w/2057 pipe running on a losi 8ight 2.0 buggy and was wondering if 30% nitro fuel can be used??? The instruction guide to the engine said I can use up to 25%. Also would I get a better performance on top end if I use a 2058 pipe?? Any feed back and advise would be highly appreciated...

Btw. Sorry about the multiple posts I was having problems posting... Also I Can't be bothered going through the thread regarding my enquiry....

I don't think you would find the info your after int he thread anyway.. That is legal ease to cover Orions butt. Run it with 30% and feel good about doing it, you will be fine. Just break-it using some sort of heat cycle method, and pre-heat the engine before starting it until you have a gallon fo fuel through it.. Break-it in right, and it'll last you a good long time..

The top end from my understanding is about the same on the 2057 and 2058, but the bottom end is much nicer with the 2058.. I haven't had the pleasure of running the 2058 yet.. IMO the 2057 is soft on the bottom, so a light weight clutch and stiff springs is need if using that pipe IMO..

Thanks for your reply. I have already broke-in and tuned the engine on 25%. So I don't have an issue with that however If i was to Run on 30% nitro, would I need to adjust the shims??

Also, what I want to do is have fast top end without compromising the bottom end to much. I am using plastic clutch shoes and a stiff sping. And I have also bought a light weight 48t spur gear to help... What do u think??

Good evening Scotty, i just tried my engine a while ago.....from an orion plug to a o.s p6 plug....this is what happened.....the engine was running good at the tracks i play on but after a few laps the engine stops. a fter a few tanks still the same.for 1 tank of fuel i think the engine stopped 3-4 times.restarting wasn't a problem.i also checked for leaks on the engine specifically on the button head where the plug is,there was none. i shifted fuel to 30% and it ran much better and had less number of times engine dying than when i used 25%.the temp readings i get are from 190-224F.......i asked help from a fellow player to look at my needle settings if they were ok.he told me i was running on the rich side. so i leaned the hsn about 1 hr on the lean side but still the engine dies on me.what would you recommend i do?thank you again.

2058 gives you a little better low end and better fuel mileage than the 2057 and just a touch better top.

you shouldn't need to reshim. But I don't know what shims you have in it now.. So hard to say..

You'll should be fine with that set up.. But the 2058 might be better suited. If you can borrow from someone you might give it a try.. But I wouldn't buy one if your happy with what you have.

Not sure which Orion plug you were running, but that particular OS plug is a fairly cold plug might try a hotter plug p4 or p5.

But, changing fuels to help with tune won't help find/fix the problem. Stick with one brand and % of fuel, and get the engine tuned with the plugs you can get. With out being there, I would say the carb is a rich for that plug. A hotter plug will help, but tuning will need to be done no matter what plug you chose..

Find yourself a good engine tuner and ask him for some help and advise. It is impossible to trouble shoot flame out / tuning problems over the internet..

I agree a P6 is really cool for 25% nitro...especially if its a higher oil 25%
