just order the discovery motor was curious does it come with the restrictors 6mm 7mm 8mm? is this motor pretty crazy on bottom end power? or is it kinda like the 3port model where its pretty good bottom and very smooth transitions through out the power band? And what kind of run time people seeing with 2058 pipe or 2013s? Ive been running p5xlt houston tuned hoping to goto something with a little less bottom end!

Just ran mine last weekend on a pretty good size track in practice (yes it was practice but obese driving like it was the A main) I pulled 10:40 with the 2013 in a kyosho mp9 tki2. This motor so far is pretty basses. Can't wait to see what it will do once I get more fuel through it

about 10 mins to 10:50 mins on a med track size jp3 [gas hog] pipe. Im sure it runs even better on a 2013,2057,and a 2058.btw 2013 pipe kicks a*s

Bottom end was still crazy sluggish so I can't even compare it to anything. Motor has right about a gallon on it so I am just now putting a full race tune on it. But I ran against one (same motor same car) and his bottom end was super crisp and poppy way snappier than an OS

Bottom end when tuned correctly is very snappy. Not super powerful but it will light the tires on command if that is what you want it to do. Or blip the throttle a tad and it'll transition to mid/high nice and quick.. It doesn't have the bottom end of the CRF 3-ports, but it has plenty, IMO..

Just so I can see how close I am, where should the bottom end be at? More or less of course

yeah im not really trying to find a motor with a crap ton of bottom! I bought one of the standard head button orion 3 ports and that thing lasted me 6 gallons and it was only 155.00 new loved it very smooth predictable motor.. And easy to tune after putting the CRF carb on.

About 1.5 - 2 turns in from flush If I remember right. I've adjusted in small increments all summer long, slowly sneaking up on it, and I honestly can't say 100% if that is correct, but it'll get you fairly close..

Best way to know for sure is set .5-.7mm idle gap, tune the low end for good idle.. Take out on track tune the top end for speed and good smoke, bring in and reset/recheck idle. If you have to lean the top much you will probably have to richen the bottom an hour or two..

Headed to the track tomorrow to get a little more fuel in it and hopefully get the bottom end a little closer. Then Monday it's off to the engine guru to get a little mod work done
