Default Question!!??

Hey,

I'm new to the forums so please go easy on me. I have a Team Orion Combo CRF Alpha Engine ABI (ABC/7 Ports/Ceramic) w/2057 pipe running on a losi 8ight 2.0 buggy and was wondering if 30% nitro fuel can be used??? The instruction guide to the engine said I can use up to 25%. Also would I get a better performance on top end if I use a 2058 pipe?? Any feed back and advise would be highly appreciated...

I've not run the 3-port, but has seen a few.. They seem to me to be very similar to the V-spec, but with a bit more punch on bottom. Most of that added punch I think is the 2013 pipe. Even with the 2013 they lack nothing on top end.. Run time, that I seen were right at 11 minutes to out of fuel. So 10 minute pits are possible on a smaller track..

Have you tried using the end of a zip strip in the exhaust port and turning the flywheel? That usually works for me with all of my engines. From what PK tells me, the p3 will work, BUT it is definitely not going to be as reliable or durable as the orion plug. Once the motor gets hot, the p3 will be toast. I asked him the same question as well, not to mention the taper on the plug may be different, causing air leaks around the glowplug seat, which will cause tuning to be a nightmare. If you have already ran the Orion plug, it would be wise to stick with Orion.....I cannot get Orion plugs anywhere around me either.....so I am in the same boat as you Amain maybe?

Port timing will be the biggest difference as far performance goes. I laid Eyes on a Tebo Edition tonight, but it was still new in package, so I can't comment on it's performance yet..

But it if it is as good as my Discovery 5-port it'll freaking rip..

Hey Doc, Yamaha Racer gave you some good advice on all your questions. Let us know how it goes.. FYI the Werks Plugs are very similar to the Orions, so you might try to get those..

If it comes down to literally not being able to get them, then test a plug that you can get. Do it like this.. Check compression with an Orion plug. Switch it to a plug you can get, and if it is any different, then it's not right.. The feeling if different will be very slight, if you notice any difference at all. If you are set on OS, I would recommend a P4 - P6, as the P3 is extremely hot..
