Thanks guys. Since I usually run 4-5 practice packs, I should be ok.

One thing I have noticed is you wont use nearly the same amount of mah in the same 4-5 min race as you use to, also you no longer have to discharge them all the way down prior to charging them again, and you dont have to sit there and wait for them to cool down normally as they normally come out of the car at room temp lol.

I know a guy who races with one pack. He pulls it out of the car after his heat, pops it on the charger at 8amps (make sure the pack can handle that much prior to charging that high) and then goes out to marshal. Says he has never had an issue as long as there were 4 total classes racing that night.

Tell that guy to turn his car and radio off, set it down and marshall. He's holding up the program. If he needs that extra 5 min to get his pack charged then he should buy another pack....I hate those guys..just sayin'

If they recommend black grease and thats what you use, thats what I will start with.

This Friday, I was bumped from the B main to the A main in the SC10, and I forgot to hit the charge button after hooking it up while I went back to the track for the buggy main, but the 5200 pack had enough juice to finish its 2nd 6min main without being topped off.

I do have a Dynamite 25C 6000Mah pack I keep charged on the side just in case, and use it for practicing as well. I'm planning on getting another 5200 SMC Lightning Volts as a backup too.
I should be ok with these then.

The track we race at gives a 3 min "warm up and check in" before the race.

I can promise you the guy in question is not the last guy out to marshall lol

Only to add a little track etiquette to this thread, if you're on the stand for your 3 min warm up do you want to spend 2 min of it on your lid waiting for marshals? Anybody who knows who I am will tell you I'm one of the first guys on the track to marshal, 99% of the time.

Racers waiting on the stand for marshals is BS all day long..IMO

If it's ok at your track that's fine, I just don't think it's the way to run a race program..IMO

I just realized that you race at Dirt Heaven. I raced there 5 years ago with my dad and little brother. And we had Jim paint bodies for us back then as well. They are both out of the hobby and I now race in the middle of Lower Michigan, lol. Small world...

I don't disagree with you, but to answer your question I don't get mad if it takes a while to get my car put back onto its tires if I dumped its on its lid. As long as I can get checked in and not delay the race, the car being on its lid is my fault not theirs.

With that being said, it is my opinion that if another racer is normally out there to marshal before most of the racers in the next race are even out there and checked in he or she is doing just fine and what he or she is doing between that time is not for me to dictate.

Now if someone was constantly the last person out on the track to marshal, thus delaying the check in process or even the race, then we have an issue.

I remember reading someone mention about excessive rebound in the V2 shocks after a run. i've noticed this phenomenon as well. rebound so bad that the entire shock shaft comes back out. I essentially have to rebleed the shocks after every run. what's the cause? anyone know? better yet, how do i keep it from happening?

Do you build / rebuild your shocks at home and then go to the track to race...is the track outdoors? Sometimes the outside temp increase will cause this to happen. I will usually bleed my shocks...work them for a bit (sometimes set them in the sun to heat up if im racing outside) and then bleed them again before putting them back on the car. Not sure if this is what causes the issue but it could be...?
