What servo would be "the best bang for the buck"'??

I will go out on a Limb and try the Tekin 5.5 (stock rotor) and ,my Tekin RS (not the pro) esc, and see how things go. Any suggestions on gearing 32p? Here is the track size

Looking for something comparable or better since I can't get parts for the stock ones.
I'm in the middle of trial fitting the losi 8ight shocks on mine. The fronts are the same lengths but need spaced out about 1-2mm on the tower, other than that they fit fine. The losi rear will longer than stock so I'll limit them a bit. Losi silver springs front and rear, from what I remember, should be the same as the AE blue's (4.3F, 2.8R) that come with the kit.

Same problem here, the truck is 99% finish only missing the bottom cap of the front shock that came splinted in half, will check with AE once more how they are doing with the parts. so far 4 days waiting............... is there any other shocks that would fit?????

That looks like a pretty small track. Check the gearing recommendations on the first post of this thread. I would start with that and probably go down a tooth or two.

I didn't have a problem with the kit shocks, I just have a set of 8ight shocks and was curious if they would fit

The cheapest is the ace 1313. And the most exspensive is the Jr 9100s. Just look at Amain or other big site and look at the servos. Get one that is metal gear and in you price range. The servos I use vary alot in price. I like to test servos and see which one I like the most. I use the Spektrum s6040 in my sc10. For me it's a great match with this truck.

i ran my truck with the losi 8ight shocks last weekend and its a much bigger improvement over the stock shocks imo. the shocks that come with the truck remind me of the 2wd sc10 shocks after about 5 runs the cheap blue anodizing starts to wear off the inside of the shocks making the pistons loose then leaks start and the oil looks gray when you take them apart. is see ae has the ft shocks for them but i still love my losi shocks make the truck handle large jumps and bumps much better and the shocks are defenatley tougher and alot higher quality than the little blue ones the truck comes with. i listed 2 sets of stock sc10 4x4 shocks on ebay last night at got 60 bucks for them. woo hoo new set of tires coming

I think the servo saver is extremely tight and maybe not working for me rather against me...Can I lossen up the servo savor from where it stands??

Ya, Immediatly after building I held the steering rack w/ my thumb and checked the ss tension. Tight. Much tighter than I usually shoot for. I backed up the nut all the way to the bottom of the top plate then flexed the ss open and added some black grease (just a little dab) , it should work it's way around.

At least 2 guys at our track have cut one coil off the spring and are happy w/ that fix.

Note: One racer at our track had a pretty hard front end smack and broke the top half servo saver arm. To me that is just more evidence that it's too damn tight.

the thicker the diff fluid in the front the less the 'posi' effect?

I have a tube of 10k that I found in my box.

gonna go pick up 3k for the rear at my lhs.

i should have mine together later today. (god willing)

there's a race tonight but i'm not sure if I'd want to run it yet, need to get it dialed and really wanna get swaybars.

the losi shocks will bolt right up i had to put some limiters inside the rear because they were a little longer than the stock shocks. the fronts were really close to the same length. the only issue is the losi aluminum caps are narrow on the top so the shock can move front to back a little too much. i ran my truck last weekend with them and i loved it. this was the first upgrade i did to my jammin before the sc10 came and i loved it so much i kept the shocks off the jammin when i sold it im glad i did. in the past the blue anodizing on the sc10 shocks would wear off and muck up the oil and make the shafts seem loose in the bodys. i love the losi shocks even though im not a losi fan. you can bolt them right up and be running in 10 minutes no hardware changes

Not the way I look at it, the thicker the fluid the stiffer the diff action, the more "posi" effect, in my world.

Yep that is how it works. Thicker the fluid the harder it is for the wheels to spin independently of each other.

Exactly! Just like this per Track Star how to article "SC10 4X4 Build"
