Your choice....

If you like to change multiple motors very often, use the plugs. Otherwise, cut it and soldered to the motor tabs.

Yes...Speed Passion does sell 180mm and 250mm sensor wires...good enough for 1/8th off road.

GT2.1 ProStock can be used for the no timing class, the boost/turbo class, or even MOD class racing...100% PRO ESC...full upgradable with the latest firmware and with tons of adjustment. Overall a better construction ESC.

Stock Club Race esc does not have these option...it has no timing, strictly for the ROAR sportsman, no timing, USVTA type of class racing.

Both are great ESC..........

OK thanks, may give that a try Sunday. Will take the laptop for practice etc. and see how it goes.

Heard these ORCA motors have lots of grunt anyway so may flash back to 205.
I have a habbit of generating heat which is what I want to avoid.

I would think the GT 2.1 esc should work with 550 motors but Im not for sure. Has anyone tried this in their 4x4 SCT? Works great for 2wd 17.5 motor.

I was wondering what is the difference between the GT2.1 and the GT2.0? Is the 2.1 worth the extra $45?
Thanks

I have both, but personally like the 2.1. All alum top half and all black look stealth.
Diff is 2.1 comes preloaded with supercharger software for Spec racing. 2.0 does not, both can be reflashed to run whatever you want with LCD card. 2.0 runs down to 3.5 motor and 2.1 handles down to 5.0 turn.

Amainhobbies has great deals both http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...less-ESC-Black

Didn't get to race this weekend but did get to spend a few hours at the track. Love the 205 Mod, pulls better out of the corners, a little more top than what I was running before, and brake feel is better. 6.5 temped 165 deg F after a hard 10 min run in B44, ambient temps were 92 deg, about all I can ask for.

212 Stock sofware is nails. I can't believe what you can get out of what passes for a "Stock" motor these days LOL. My B4 was absolute money for about 6 minutes, until the motor got above 150 deg and faded a little. Still pretty good even so, but the motor would come off after 10 minutes at about 155 to 160. Wouldn't care except it did fade a little at those temps. This is with a Trinity Nemesis 17.5, FDR 6.24, running the 212 Stock settings David posted on Pg. 1. Anybody have experience with that motor? Top end is not an issue, I could go down a tooth on the pinion if it will help motor temps. I have a 17.5 Duo 3 on the way, but would like to be able to use both motors if I can keep the Nemesis under 150.

Hi

Thanks for the info, what settings really affect heat etc?

If I have been running a 6.5 V3 in 4wd, what motor would you go for based on the extra SC settings etc.

Regards,

Mike

Write down the default settings for 528 mod as a referance. I would then start with Cockerill's 422 setup below as a base. You can compare the two. 422 is "hotter" and more aimed for stock so I believe settings should be pretty safe. Watch temps!

Just a heads up on our previous discuission about running a 7.5 on the 2.0 pro without a fan in a 2wd buggy.. I ran the car as hard as I could till lipo cutoff, and temped the heatsink at 108 degrees.... the speedo is a tank.

The few speedos that I have seen go up in smoke like that where user error. Bad solder joints, reversed polarity or crash damage or something like that. I would still contact SP and see what they say.

As long as running in 2S, the GT2.1 works as good as GT2 PRO or other ESC in the market....with the new SC software that we are going to release soon, it has been killing on the track. We have drivers used it on SCTE 4x4 and it is the best ESC so far, smooth power and the brake is unbelievable. According from them.......

And yes...its been tested with NOVAK HV5.5. the new 550 and Tekin 550....all works. Just pick your choice of motor.

And Speed Passion will release our own 550 motor soon....our driver is testing it now. Both 4X4 and 1/8th....it is the best so far.
